I Believe

Life is not a musical. It isn’t the Hallmark, love-finds-a-way, everything-will-be-okay scene that we watch on television. The girl doesn’t always get the guy. There is rarely any riding into the sunset.

Life is the pages of a biography, filled with obstacles and complications that cannot always be persevered. Life is unexpected and often the opposite of what we want.

Sometimes it all works out. Sometimes it’s the written word where we’re the authors and it all ties neatly together.

But the only way to insure that ending and the perks that should come with surviving the storm is to work for what we want. To not give up even in the face of destruction.

I like musicals. I like love stories. I like when people can say that things fell into place. I like when the girl gets the guy. I like when a Tracy gets a Link. I like when a Prince Charming sees an invisible Plain Jane.

I believe in coincidence. I believe in signs. I believe that our life is already woven in a web. I believe that the bad days count as much as the good ones. I believe that good things happen to people who deserve it. I believe that the people who have suffered the most have the best stories and that they have the most to teach us.

I believe that I am more than where I am right now. I believe I’ve been put here to do great things and to be a good person. I believe that I’ll find where I belong. And I believe…

I believe that one day I will be and feel as beautiful as I crave. I believe that my name will be on lips of those who don’t know me. I believe I can forget the past, but treasure it. I believe in love.
