In God’s eyes, worlds ebb and flow.
In God’s hands, lives come and go.
So why do we fight?
If it’s all “in God’s hands;” “God only knows,”
If so, why do angels cry, and darkness grow?

Could we just be, and not for naught?
Is it in our hands, our battles fought?
Do we bring light?
Do stars live forever, or can they be bought?
Is life precious, or can it be caught?

Can we kill our demons and fly away?
Can we be Perfect, in every way?
No. Never.
Can this be all, all there is to say?
On the paths of life, can we stray?

Does fate keep her cold fingers on us all?
Do we fly on puppet strings, or are we left to fall?
Always and forever.
Do we just flicker in the dark, behind our wall?
The answer is yes, and no, and not at all.
