Awash in a sea of seconds and exhalations
Heartstrings throb,
Bruised with 'have' and 'have not''s
I won't fade because of you
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My stars have fallen
Without my wishes
And death looms for the immortal
Pendulum scythe
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Swinging free in my ribcage
Where did all the fairy tales go?
Princes chained in towers,
Snow White summoning monsters
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here, in this, my music box
Under lock and key
Guarding thoughts and pressed pansies
Is a smaller, perfect me
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wishing wells don't charm
My heart sinks to depths
Love songs are ballads long since worn
Bittersweet? Yes.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tainting my tongue and your ears
Where did the nursery rhymes go?
Spiders eating curdled whey,
Thirteen crows baked in a pie.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here, in this, my music box
Under lock and key
Guarding thoughts and pressed pansies
Is a smaller, perfect me
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here, in this, my music box
Under lock and key
Guarding thoughts and pressed pansies
Is a smaller, perfect me
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Awash in a sea of seconds and exhalations
Heartstrings throb,
Bruised with have and have nots
I won't fade because of you
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'll just fade. . .
