We walked into the school and down the hall into the principal’s office. When we walked in, we noticed the plump lady sitting behind the desk in the hideous purple flowered dress. Her bifocals were perched on the edge of her nose as she looked down at the paper work on her desk. When she heard us enter, she looked up and smiled. “How can I help you, gentlemen?” She asked as she took her glasses off her nose and dropped them so they could hang on the beaded chain around her neck.
“We’re Taylor Hudson’s brothers. We need to pick Taylor up.” I said with a smile. I glanced over at Cody and he nodded.
“Do you have any identification?” she asked as she started looking through her computer.
“Oh, yes, of course.” I pulled out my wallet and showed her my fake id. She looked at it, then back up at me before she smiled and nodded. She checked it against the emergency card and verified that I was legitimate. Ha, the security in schools these days sucks.
“Well, it looks like Taylor is in English right now, room 134. I’ll just page the room.” She picked up the phone and started dialing when I interrupted.
“Do you mind if we go down there ourselves?”
She shrugged. “I don’t mind. Do you know how to get there?”
“Yeah, we’ve been here before.” We turned and walked out of the office and down the hall. We already knew where the room was, so we headed straight there. We stopped outside the door and peered in through the window. “Alright, how much?” I asked as I gazed at the kids in the classroom.
“Fifty.” Cody said as he joined me to look into the class room.
“I think he’s the one in the back with the black spiked hair and the leather jacket.”
“He looks like he belongs in a biker bar. No, I don’t think it’s him. I think it’s the guy on the left with the brown hair.”
“Yeah right. That guy looks like a football player. He’s probably as dumb as a rock.”
“And your guy is so much smarter looking.”
“At least he’s not a jock.”
“Whatever. Deal.” He held out his hand and I shook it before I knocked on the door. The teacher waved us in and we walked in. We stood at the front of the class and everyone was looking at us. Damn, I forgot how hot high school girls were. If I hadn’t dropped out, I would’ve graduated last year. Oh, how the years have flown bye.
God, why is English so boring? If Mrs. Jensen wasn’t deaf, maybe she would hear that no one is listening. It’s the freaking last day of school and she is still lecturing.
I tuned the old lady that was writing on the black board out and focused my attention on my book that was across my desk. I heard the door open and I looked up at two guys walking in. They were both fairly attractive. Who am I kidding, they were hot, and every girl in the room knew it.
The one on the left was shorter than the one on the right, but they were both very tall. The one on the left had light brown, almost blonde, hair that was down to his ears and poker straight. He had bright blue eyes and tanned skin. He was muscular, built like an athlete, but he had the softest smile. The one on the right was lankier compared to the one on the left. Well, not exactly lanky, but he wasn’t as muscular. He was only taller by about two inches, but his lack of muscles made him seem taller. He had medium brown hair and soft brown eyes. He had freckles spread across his nose and cheeks, but they were very faint against his tanned skin. He had a brilliant and lively smile. They were both drop dead sexy.
They were probably here to pick up Janine and Caitlin, the popular girls of our class, for a little end of school surprise. Last semester, two guys came to pick them up and took them away in a limo. I think they hired them to make themselves look better but they swore they were their college boyfriends that were home on break. I don’t remember them being this hot, but people change. I also wasn’t really paying attention to them when they walked in, but there was something about these two that just drawled your eyes to them.
The one on the left handed Mrs. Jensen a slip of paper. She glanced at it before she shook her head and started sifting through her desk drawers for her glasses. I shifted my gaze back to my book seeing as it was more interesting than anything that could go on here.
We walked in and stood in front of the class for a second before the teacher walked over. “Can I help you?” she asked. This poor old lady needed to retire years ago.
I took the paper out of my pocket that the principal gave me and handed it to her. She looked at it for a second before she walked over to her desk and started madly searching through the drawers for something; I figured it was her glasses. I looked at Cody. We silently agreed that this woman was crazy so I decided to speak up. “We’re here to pick up Taylor Hudson.” I said with a smile.
“Me?” I blurted out. They were here looking for me? Why? I didn’t do anything. Was this some kind of joke?
“Are you sure?” I looked up to see a girl talking. She was pretty. She had long brown hair that was only wavy from her ears down in the front. She had vibrant bluish green eyes that looked confused. She was thin, probably not an ounce of fat on her, but she was dressed conservatively. She was wearing a shirt that was tight to her body, but not too tight, and shorts that weren’t short enough. C’mon baby, flaunt your body. You’ll get a hell of a lot more guys that way.
“No, we’re looking for Taylor Hudson. Is he in here?”
“I’m the only Taylor Hudson in this school. Maybe you’ve got the name wrong.”
“No, no.” my teacher said as she shook her gray head. “It says right here Taylor Hudson. C’mon missy, grab your things and skedaddle. I’d like to continue on with the last hours of my class.” Before the guys could protest, she turned and shoed them out the door into the hallway, even though they were way taller than her. I could feel my cheeks blush as I gathered my things and made my way to the door. I could hear he whispers and the gasps and I felt like all eyes were on me as I followed the boys out the door and into the hallway.
“There must be some sort of a mistake. What could you possibly want with me?” I asked once the door was shut behind me.
“Your guess is as good as mine. I thought we were looking for a dude.”
“What is going on?”
“You’ll have to ask Dave.” They turned and started walking in the direction of the front doors. When I didn’t follow, they turned and looked at me with a dumbstruck look on their face. “Are you coming?”
“No, I don’t know you!” I said like they were stupid.
“C’mon we don’t have all day!” The other one whispered something in his ear and he shrugged like he accepted the idea. He walked back over to me and held his hand out, palm up. Suddenly, an apple appeared in his hand, out of no where. It just appeared! I couldn’t help it. I fainted.
I made the apple vanish, careful to make sure no one saw, and bent down and picked her up. I positioned her so it looked like she was digging her face into my shoulder. I then began walking and fell into step beside Cody.
“I don’t know how this girl is supposed to save anything, she weighs hardly over a hundred pounds!”
“No one ever said she was going to save anything. Maybe we’re saving her. Maybe we’re the super heroes.” Cody offered.
“I doubt it. That’s okay ,we’ll find out eventually. Who would’ve thought that Taylor is a girl? And why couldn’t we get one of the busty blondes in the back. No, we had to get the shy bookworm that only looked up at us when we walked in. I mean, come on, we’re attractive people. Aren’t we?”
“Well I am. You, I’m not so sure.” He laughed I would’ve hit him but my hands were full.
--
When I woke up, I was in the back of a car; a very fast, and a very small, car. I sat up and looked at the two in the front seats. It was the guys from school! Why were they kidnapping me! I didn’t realize that I was all that important or interesting. What could they possible want with me?
“Why are you kidnapping me?!” I shouted.
The one in the passenger’s seat turned around to look at me. It was the one with the light brown hair.
“We’re not- okay, yeah we are kidnapping you. But it’s for your own- god, I can’t even say that. I have no idea what I’m talking about. Uh, my name is Sean, and this is Cody. We have a lot of explaining to do, but we’re going to kindly leave it all up to Dave.” He laughed.
“Why have you kidnapped me?”
“I just said I didn’t know. Gosh.” He sounded like Napoleon Dynamite.
I then noticed that I hadn’t heard the other one, talk. He had been completely silent in the school, and now he was very concentrated on the road.
“Let me go home! I don’t want to be here! Leave me alone. I’m not special.” I whined. He reached his hand around and held it in front of me again, palm up. I crossed my arms across my chest and sat back in my seat. “You can save your little magic trick. It won’t work on me twice.” I said like a know it all, which is trying to make me seem a million times more confident than I am.
“Oh, okay then.” He said as he turned around in his chair. This time, a soda appeared in his hand and he started drinking it. I stared at it wide eyed for a second until I fainted, once again.
“Doesn’t she get it? She’s really not as bright as she looks.” I said before I made the soda vanish.
“Well it’s sort of hard to grasp something that you haven’t known. Or something that you’ve been told all your life doesn’t exist. Give her a break, Sean.”
“Fine, whatever. Are we there yet?”
“You sound like a child.” He said as he pulled into the driveway. “But luckily, we are.”
We got out of the car and I went to follow Cody in when he stopped and looked at me. He raised his eye brows. “What?” I asked.
“Forgetting something?” He asked.
I shook my head. “Nope.” I passed by him and walked up to the door. I heard him moan before he walked back out to the car and retrieved the girl. We walked in and saw Dave sitting on the couch.
“Have you got her?” he asked when I walked in. He then shifted his gaze to Cody who was carrying her in. “Ah, set her down. Why is she unconscious?” he asked as he looked at her on the couch that he had just vacated.
“She fainted when I got a soda.” I said like it happened every day. Well, it would if I went around flaunting my talents.
“You revealed to her your abilities?!” he asked, alarmed.
“Yeah, I didn’t think it was that big of a deal.” I shrugged and plopped down on the easy chair.
“Why did we kidnap her?” Cody asked as he leaned against the arm of my chair.
“It’s nothing. Take your paycheck and go.” He pointed to two envelopes on the end table as he continued to swoon over Taylor.
“Paycheck? When have you ever given us a paycheck? Don’t we just get like a soda, or something?” I asked as I got up and walked over to the fridge.
“I said GO!” he said sharply.
“Why did you have us kidnap her, Dave?” I said, getting very suspicious. This was very unlike Dave.
He turned to me with hateful eyes. “Get out of my house, now!”
I shrugged and Cody and I walked out the door. We got in the car but Cody didn’t start it and we didn’t go anywhere.
“What was up with Dave?” I asked as I stared straight forward.
“I don’t know. Dude,” he turned to me with a shocked look. “He was going to pay us. We forgot our checks!” We rushed out of the car and burst through the door.
“Just forgot our-whoa!” Dave was standing over Taylor, who was still unconscious on the couch. He was holding a knife over his head and he looked like he was going to plunge it right into her chest.
I ran over and grabbed his arms.
“She’s evil, I tell you! She has to be destroyed!” He shouted as he started to fight to get out of my grip.
I motioned to Taylor as I looked at Cody. He walked over and scooped her up in his arms before he grabbed the checks off the table and walked out the door.
“No! You don’t understand. She’s evil!” He struggled, but he couldn’t get out of my grip. I knocked him out and rushed out the door to follow Cody.
What the fuck was going on?
A/N: Thanks so much for reading. This is my first story that has magic in it so bear with me. If you have any tips or suggestions I would love to hear them, because I find it very difficult to describe the magic that the guys do. Thanks for reading, please please please review.
