You never seem

To appreciate

Those times I

Helped you self-medicate

But I hope

I’ve helped alleviate

Some of that pain I helped to cause

You never seemed

To see me bleed

Or to any of

My words, take heed

Or notice that I’m

Always there when you need

Someone to defend you without pause

And I hate to make you choose

But I don’t want to feel you, anymore

I don’t want to know you, anymore

I don’t want to see you, anymore

I don’t want to want you, anymore

Because I’m tired of merely wanting

You’ve known for a while

Of how I feel

Yet each time

I try to heal

Or convince myself

That you’re not real

You insist on cutting deeper yet again

But when I try

To return your embrace

You move from me

Leaving just a taste

Of the life together

You chose to waste

And then you treat me like it’s a sin

And I hate to make you lose

But I don’t want to feel you, anymore

I don’t want to know you, anymore

I don’t want to see you, anymore

I don’t want to want you, anymore

Because I’m tired of all your taunting

I’ve seen it all

I’ve caught your fall

And helped you crawl

From burning remains

I’ve eased your pains

And shielded you from rains

All this, yet you’ve never thought of me

But I don’t want to feel you, anymore

I don’t want to know you, anymore

I don’t want to see you, anymore

I don’t want to want you, anymore

I don’t want to want anymore…
