Dawn approaches, a sleepless night,

With all the nightmares, it's a hopeless plight.

Without out her there, by my side,

All I can do with my time is bide.

When next I see her, I tell her my woes,

Of how I can't sleep, whenever she goes.

I miss her smell, her warmth, her touch,

I miss her so, ever so much.

“No more sleepless nights,” she said,

“You shan't be lonely, with this in your bed.”

She then produced a teddy bear,

And said “now you know I'll always be there.”

Soft like her jumper, I give it a hug,

It's nice and warm, just like a rug.

Washed in shampoo, it smells of her hair,

With that I know, she really does care.

“What shall we call him?” She looks at me,

I have no idea, what his name could be.

“I like Shadow, cause he'll always be there,”

He's now our Shadow, Shadow the Bear.
