“You're not normal, not right. You're not my son.”
You're not wrong, not quite, but just this once.
“You're strange, you're weird, you're going to lose.”
You, once revered, yourself recuse.
“You're just like her: no life, no lies.”
But he is lost who does not try.
“You're just a kid with bright ideas.”
But he is deaf who does not hear.
“You're gonna get your ass kicked if you want the world to change.”
But first I'll quell this tyranny of what the world thinks strange.
“You think you know the answers - “ And the answer's what I seek -
“but I wish you wouldn't question.” 'Cause I know it makes you weak.
“You're never gonna make it - “ And I feel your errant woe -
“ - when you don't respect the ancient.” - and with that, I've gotta go.
