Tragedy
Loss, guilt, death, defeat;
Forever departed, just before its time.
So long, it's gone, now incomplete:
Left at the dawn of a soul's full chime.
Lives of indifference prominently deplete,
Snaking through golden hearts of great prime.
Downing with the strength of an entire vast fleet,
Taking people of great and old sublime,
Tragedy conquers until hope takes the backseat.
Raging and burning through the minds of all,
Touching men both short and tall.
Fighting against humanity,
Driven mad with the insanity;
Losing the battle to both faith and love,
Together combined with the stars up above --
to scare away all the fears and pains of what should never have been
Tragedy, contridiction of the world we've never truly seen;
Biting with cold fangs,
Clawing with sore claws,
Bleeding now, for we're a race that fights the inevitable.
Never leaving with precipitated bangs,
Abandoning all preemptive applause,
Reaching high for all that's impossible,
The heroes, suffering and mighty, normal and ordinary,
Determined and driven for thus, in light of all things,
Performing the extraordinary yet never alone;
Giving their all at the world though it stings;
A refusal to surrender to tragedy unknown.
