Kelly's P.O.V
We made our way home at around one in the morning after our graduation party. The best night of our lives was coming to an end and we were both feeling dejected, and tired. Not to mention a bit drunk.
Megan, my best friend and I had just graduated from Jefferson High, and we were off to opposite sides of the country to go to college. Megan, blonde with blue eyes and beautiful feminine features was going to study in Wisconsin. And I, Kelly, a plump brunette with green eyes was off to study in New York.
I wasn’t really focusing on my driving, my weariness had gotten the best of me and all I was focusing on was getting home before my curfew. And for a split second, I fell asleep at the wheel of my Hummer.
But a split second was all it took.
The deafening sound of metal crunching against metal reached me before the fact that I crashed did. And then I became aware of all the blood and glass protruding from my body.
In an excruciatingly painful movement, I turned my head to see if Megan was ok. She wasn't. From the looks of it, she had passed out.
And a minute later, so did I.

Derek's P.O.V
It was a hell of a night. Shane – my cousin- and I were heading home after our high school graduation party. Both of us were aggravated at the horde of girls who had stupidly gotten themselves drunk and practically threw themselves at us.
If you can't hold your liquor down, don't drink it. It's as easy as that.
See, Shane and I, we rule the school. With my surfer dude looks and collected attitude, girls throw themselves at me all the time.
Not that I'm complaining or anything.
But there is a downside to being the god of the school. Other guys won't trust you with their sisters, girlfriends, cousins, etc. one guy didn't even trust me with his mom. That's just borderline stupid. No, it IS stupid.
Shane, even though he's my cousin, looks the complete opposite of me. He has raven black hair with purple highlights, green eyes, and tanned skin. He looks a bit like a gothic surfer dude. And together, we basically ruled the school.
I rounded the corner that'd take me to his house. I was supposed to sleep over, seeing as my parents are out of town, getting a divorce.
I caught sight of the familiar Victorian house, and a rush of nostalgia made its way through me. It was like my second home. Shane's parents – my Uncle Joe and Aunt Alice – actually raised me more than my parents did.
I'm what you would call a spoilt little rich kid. My mom's a model, and my dad's CEO of a big corporation. Neither of them has ever given me love or care, they're always traveling, so instead of love they give me money.
Good logic, huh?
Shane broke me out of my reverie by pointing out a huge red hummer that was careening out of control, and heading straight for us.
I swerved to the left, but the car went to the left too. Seems like the driver was drunk or sleeping – maybe both. She was a plump brunette from what I could tell, but I didn't have time, I tried to swerve again before we crashed, but it was too late.
Yep, that's right, we crashed into the car.
I wasn't that hurt, I just hit my head pretty hard, it was Shane I was worried about, he was sitting in the passenger seat, the side that was struck by the hummer. I took one look at him and it was obvious he wasn't alive anymore.
And then the hurt, shock, and the pain of losing Shane overcame me, and I passed out.
