Cinderella
by Eressea

-

The midnight bell tolled.

Our conversation ceased,

Outstretched hands on the shoulder

Detach in a fluster.

-

Like Cinderella's departure,

Precious moments cease with time.

All things that engrave marks,

Tell time please,

Or let me sleep until it is dawn.

-

The midnight bell tolled.

In that aftertaste,

Like a dream rudely awakened,

Only grief remained in the kiss.

-

But like Cinderella's love,

If it was thrown into the sea,

The hands that held the dainty slipper,

Would be bitten by glass and bleed.

-

Let me sleep until it is dawn.
