April Snow
by Eressea

-

Only when April skies begin to snow,

Do we turn to faith for assurance.

Only when our doings lose gravity,

Do we command immense might.

Only if we suppress our sentiments,

May we broaden our hearts.

-

What right do we have to lament misfortunes?

What horrors are we fretting?

Who are we busying ourselves for?

When all you have is you.

-

Untainted prayers are discovered,

Because the world is covered in muck.

Brightest dreams are perceived,

Because the skies are dark.

Desires are ridiculously redundant.

Value equates materialism.

-

One day we will return to the playground,

And bask in the sunlight that sunned our faces

From a time long ago.

Those warm smiles from companions of old,

I cannot feel them now.

-

What right do we have to lament misfortunes?

What horrors are we fretting?

Who are we busying ourselves for?

When all you have is you.
