I'm back!! Ok, so the reason I stopped the story before was because it moved waaaaaay fast. so it's basically the same thing, it'll just be spaced out, and Better!
What’s up? My name is Lily, and I’m sixteen. Here I am standing in the middle of a really bad storm, getting soaked to the bone, and why you ask? Because I’m waiting for my newly adopted parents to come pick me up with their happy little family. They’ll probably change their mind when the four year old starts screaming because of how hideous I am. They’re supposed to have three other kids. Can I just ask one question? Who on earth would want five kids? You know, I thought when people wanted to adopt they chose younger kids, not the ones who are almost old enough to move out. Oh well...
I watch the many cars pass with annoyance. I checked my watch, they were supposed to be here about an hour ago. Out of no where a car came speeding down the road and made the big puddle of water filling up in the curb splash all over me.
"Watch where your going jackass!! You were going way over the damn speed limit!! You better be glad my guitar was in it’s case!!" I shouted angrily as a silver expedition pulled up to a stop in front of me. I’m sure I look like a mess right now, but at least I’m not wearing makeup, they probably would have drove right passed me if I were standing here with mascara dripping down my face. Max and Jessica, my now adopted parents, just kinda stared at him for a minute from inside the car. "Sorry" I said quickly knowing that they were referring to my not so kind language. Max rushed out of the car to help me grab my bags. Not that I had many, actually I just had a back pack and a guitar case. I made sure my guitar would be safe and then I climbed into the backseat.
"Sorry we took so long Lily" Jessica said softly, as she ran her hand through her long blonde hair. I waved at the little boy with blue eyes and blond hair like his mom’s sitting next to me in a car seat.
"It’s ok, anything to get out of that place" I said focusing on the woman. She’s very pretty. Like her son, she also had blue eyes. Max also had blond hair but his eyes were brown. They’re an attractive couple, but honestly, I think they’re to young to have four kids...well five now. Jessica glanced back at me, I can only imagine what she saw. A girl with dripping black hair, my lip pierced on the left, my eyebrow pierced on the right, and eyes that could never be explained. See normal eye colors would be blue, brown, green, hazel. Nope, not me, as if me being an outcast because of my clothes wasn’t enough. Nope, my eyes are purple. You think I’m kidding? Well believe me when I say I wish I am. My eyes are the color of an amethyst stone. Can you say weird? She’s probably thinking that she made a bad decision, and they’ll have me back up at the orphanage by noon. Jessica finally looked over to the little boy beside me.
"That’s Jake, our youngest." she said pointing to the kid.
"Hi, Jake" I say smiling at him. He smiles back. "I’m Lily" I add.
"Lilwy?" he asked grinning, I nodded.
"Yeah, something like that" I said smiling.
"So, Lily" Max said looking back at me through the rearview mirror. "What kind of food do you like? Jess and I will have to go to the store later." he said. I shrugged.
"I’ll eat just about anything..." I said slowly.
"Something tells me, your not a picky eater..." he said.
"Living at an orphanage where you don’t really know what your eating kinda does that too you" I said laughing. They didn’t laugh, they just kind of looked at each other. "So you have three other kids?" I asked mentally kicking myself.
"Yeah. There’s Jake, he’s four. Then there’s Josh, he’s ten, and Tyler is thirteen, and Ryan is seventeen." she said. Great all boys. They wanted a girl why? Maybe to replace Ryan when he moves out...hmm.
After about three hours of getting hit in the face repetitively by Jake, we pulled up to a large white two story house. Unless you count the basement of course. It had stopped raining a while before we arrived, and for that I am truly grateful. I hurried around to the back of the car, or SUV I should say, and grabbed my guitar case and backpack If I was lucky, I could probably get a job and get more clothes before I started my junior year of highschool. I followed the three blonds into the house. It was way too clean for a house full of boys, that’s for sure. I took to looking at the pictures hanging on the wall behind the door as Max and Jessica called for the other three boys to come down and meet their new "sister". Yeah right, that’s like what you say when you actually have the baby.
When I heard the a loud pounding coming from upstairs I jumped. Who runs through a house like that? Coming down the stairs in order from shortest to tallest-which I have to admit was kind of creepy- came three blond boys. They all just sat there staring at me, making me extremely uncomfortable.
"Boys, this is Lily, your new sister" Jessica said, I couldn’t help but flinch at the word. No one seemed to notice though. "Lily, this is Josh" she said pointing to the shortest, and obviously the youngest of the three. His blond hair an exact replica of both of his parents and bright blue eyes like his mom. He gave a large grin, turned bright pink, and waved. "Tyler" she gestured to the next boy, who looked a lot like Josh only an older version. He stood there trying to look cool. "And Ryan" she said pointing to the tallest, and most attractive of the three. His hair unlike everyone else’s, excluding me, was dirty blond, and spiked, and his eyes were green. He didn’t have to try to look cool, he just was. He stood there leaning against the banister with his arms folded across his chest. I just waved, it was the only thing I could do to keep myself from stuttering like an idiot. "Josh, why don’t you show Lily to her room, please hun?" Jessica asked. Why did she keep saying my name in every sentence? That’s so...annoying.
Ignoring my own thoughts I followed the young red faced boy passed the other two and down the stairs to the nicely furnished basement. The walls were dark blue, and the carpet was white. When you first walk into the basement it’s a TV room, and then as you get further there is a full sized bed in a far corner, and a door next to a dresser leading to the bathroom nearby.
"Is that all the stuff you brought?" Josh asked breaking me from my thoughts. I nodded.
"Yup"
"Why?" he asked looking at me funny.
"It’s the only stuff I have" I answered simply sitting on the edge of the bed. I swear to god, I thought the kids eyes were going to pop out of their sockets from the look he gave me, but then he shrugged.
"My mom said that people with a lot of piercings look like pincushions." he grinned when I raised an eyebrow.
"Really? Well I don’’t have that many..." I grumbled and his grin grew.
"So where else do you have them?" he asked suddenly. I pulled my hair back behind both ears, to reveal five earrings in my right ear, and four in my left. Then I raised my shirt up a bit to reveal my navel piercing. "Yup, you’re a pincushion...Ryan has his tongue pierced!" he said with excitement, I froze, oh my god that’s hot. I just shook my head as I dug through my backpack. I pulled out my well stocked CD case and started flipping through it, picked out a CD and headed for the stereo that was set up near the TV.
"Your parents don’t mind loud music do they?" I asked. Josh shook his head.
"No, Ryan plays loud music all the time" he said, I smiled and placed the cd in the disk slot, pressed play, and music filled the room. "What is that?" Josh asked shooting me a funny look. I threw a fake shocked face causing him to laugh a little.
"That, my young friend, is Daft Punk, by the time I’m finished with you, Josh, you will be a music genius like me" I said as I swayed to the music.
"Ryan says the same thing... You guys should hang out!" he said a little to loudly.
"We do live in the same house, so I’m sure we’ll run into each other eventually." I said. Josh just nodded. He seemed to be listening rather intently to "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger".
It wasn’t long before Tyler appeared in the doorway asking if he could come in. I nodded, and he sat on the couch next to me and Josh, and I watched as they set up a game system to play ‘Whacked’, and I sat watching them blow each other up with explosives, and listened to the music.
"Lily, you want to play?" Josh asked.
"Oh, no, I like watching, besides, I’ve never played the xbox before" I explained and both his and Tyler’s jaw dropped. "Remember, I grew up in a completely different environment" I added hastily, and they returned to their game. I stood and began heading toward the stairs.
"Our mom and dad went to the store, and Ryan’s girlfriend is here" Tyler said, and I stopped turning toward them. "She’s a bitch" he said without looking away from the TV screen.
"Well I bet she’d be happy to hear how highly she’s spoken of" I mumbled as I made my way up the stairs to find the kitchen.
When I made it to the top of the stair I examined the room I was in, over to the left was a large dining room table, and a door off to the side. I bet the kitchen is right through there! I walked quickly to the door, and opened it. When I got inside the door swung shut behind me, and I looked around. Over on the counter next to the sink sat a girl who looked about my age, she was locking lips with Ryan, who stood in front of her, and his hand was hidden beneath her shirt. "Oh my god!" I shouted, shielding my eyes and they jumped apart. "I am so sorry...I was just coming to get a drink, and..." to my horror, I just kept rambling on. The girl looked angry, but Ryan just smirked. "I am so sorry..." I apologized again. Ryan reached up into a cabinet and pulled a glass from the shelf, and held it out to me. I slowly walked over and took it avoiding his girlfriend’s frosty glare. "Thanks..." I said, and I hurried over to the fridge and grabbed the orange juice. "I’ll be gone in a minute...I’m so.."
"Lily!" Ryan shouted and I turned to look at him, he looked like he was trying really hard not to fall over with laughter. "It’s fine, she was about to have to leave anyway" as he said that, there was a honk coming from the driveway. The girl shot me one more frosty glare before kissing Ryan on the cheek and hurrying out of the house.
"Sorry" I muttered one last time as I put the orange juice carton away.
"It’s fine, she was getting annoying anyway." he said shrugging did I really just hear him say that about his girlfriend? Wow, he’s a jerk...a very very hot one... I jumped up on the counter top with my legs crossed Indian style. Ryans green eyes focused on me, and I felt my cheeks warm, and knew that my face was as red as the highlights in my hair. He smirked again as he played with his tongue ring.
