In Love, or In Trouble

I am lying next to you, watching the stars.

We are listening to music, songs you gave me.

I don't know what to think, when you stare into my eyes.

My breath goes short, I can't think clearly

I imagine the possibilities, and the problems.

I ask you the time, 3:00, I say it's still early.

I see a shooting star, and make a wish.

You see one too;

But what do you hope for, is it me?

I don't think it would work,

But I want it to be.

I turn to you,

Talk in a hushed voice, even if the world is asleep.

I want to keep it a secret, but I can't.

My voice is low, but my heart is high.

I take hold of your hand,

You pull back.
