Lost, Glass, Deep, Leaf, Light;

I was lost, crying out

In this deep night darkness

No light filtered through

I was as a leaf in the wind.

This glass heart shattered.

---------------------------

Silent, Alert, Shifting, Mythical, Imprisoned;

I sat silent in the darkness

Shifting as I listened

Imprisoned by my own fears.

I was suddenly alert, I waited.

When would the creature of myth attack?

---------------------------

Joy, Love, Music, Laughter, Soul;

I sat with my love as we listened

To the music filtering through

With joy our fingers intertwined

And happiness and laughter

Welled up in our souls.

---------------------------

Fate, Ice, Love, Bird, Passion;

This heart is one of ice

A little mocking bird

For what is love

But senseless passion

For fate is very cruel

---------------------------

Rescue, Spine, Alive, Fathom, Crescendo;

Chills ran down her spine

She tried, but could not fathom

Who would rescue her

From this nightmare come alive

The sound of death reached it’s crescendo

---------------------------

Meet, Cloth, Breathless, Surface, Wire;

Breathless the young lovers parted

Only to meet again

As though entwined in wire

Her hair like soft cloth

The surface of his skin glistened

---------------------------

Tied, Tree, Typical, Treason, Tepid;

Except for his treason

The youth seemed tepid

His attitude not typical of youth

As his arms they tied

And bound him to the tree to receive his lashes

---------------------------

Anchor, Abrupt, Aim, Aware, Art;

I raised the anchor

and felt the abrupt change

I aimed my ship eastward

Aware of what lay ahead

My art lies in the battle.

This is a collection of nonsensical poems written for a literary game on a forum I frequent. The challenge was to take five words that were randomly chosen by the user posting above you and create a short story/poem using the five words, one in each line or paragraph. These poems I will be submitting were created by me for several challenges, and have a haiku feel to them. None are supposed to have any meaning whatsoever, they are simply meant to sound pretty. Anything you draw from them is your own translation.
