I wish your eyes
could work like mine
I wish you could be released
from these tangles of porcelain
Fragility
for which you strive.

The world isn’t half as beautiful as you
You
A sad mess of grey flesh
and brittle bone.
Why do you try so hard to feel so alone?

I want to wrap you in my arms
A tender embrace
Could you hold onto me long enough
not to break?

You’re a tiny dancer
trapped in a dangerous ballet
that you cannot end
Your leotard looks stained with night
against your moon-washed skin

I want to sweep you into sun’s warm arms
away from the ugly of the world below
What has it done to you?
You’re still just a little girl

The world isn’t half as beautiful as you
