A/n: Okay, this is a piece I wrote for myself, then put into my writing portfolio for Writer’s Workshop. It’s nothing fancy, but it’s something that I thought a lot about throughout both Little Women and Peter Pan this past year.

Another Rehearsal

Another day,
Another rehearsal.
Another chance to choke
On a line.
Another chance to crack
On a note.
Another night
Of doing nothing.
Another bore.

Another day.
Another rehearsal
Another chance to laugh
At a mistake,
Mine or someone else’s.
Another chance to ace
The hardest line or note
Another chance to make
Memories with an unforgettable cast
Another night
Of amusement
Another memory.

No matter what,
The good outweighs
All the bad
Every memory made
Is worth more
Than any possible mistake.
The bows taken are
Better than any
Free time
I could’ve had
Or event
I could’ve missed.

Life is about more.
More than a free night.
More than nights out with friends you barely even know anymore.
It’s more about…
Memories.

Memories of the nights
Of the fun had
Of mistakes made
Of the shows
Of the parties, of…
