Just a short one shot story that popped into my head, if anyone wants anymore I might be able to add some more and turn it into a story, just let me know.

“Don’t cry” I whispered, reaching out to touch him. He continued anyway, the sound of him crying filling the air, not once lifting that beautiful face up to look at me.

I stared and felt my own tears begin to fall. He wasn't paying attention to me, why?

“Hello?” I asked, his body moved and I heard him. If only he would look at me, and stop hugging what was on the ground.

“Alex?” I smiled and knelt down next to him, I knew the smile didn’t meet my eyes. “Talk to me.” I asked.

“Breathe” He gasped out, still sobbing “Breathe!” He moved and I gasped. His face was tear stained and his brown hair a mess. Green eyes looked down at what was below him. I looked down as well.

“It’s me” I whispered, tilting my head to the side, I reached out and touched the arm, bloodied and pale. It was me.

I glanced at my own arm, and gasped when I could see the body before me through it.

“Am I? Am I dead?” I asked the air.

“Yes.” I looked behind me and my eyes filled with wonder. Standing there glowing was a man, dark hair blowing in the wind, blue eyes looking at me kindly, a white suit on his slim frame, white wings spreading out behind him, glowing. He held a hand out to me, smiling. I stared in wonder before turning back to Alex, who was still crying.

“I’m dead.” I whispered.

“Yes. Come with me Alice.” I shook my head.

“He’s crying.” I said softly.

“He will be ok, he knows you are going to a better place.” The soft voice moved through my head and lulled me slightly.

“A better place.” I whispered.

“Yes.” He said, I looked back, his arm still held out towards me, inviting me, then I looked back at the crying man next to me and the pale, dead body.

“I want to let him know I am ok.” I said, leaning towards the man, attempting to hug him, only to find my body going right through.

“Alice.” I turned back, he was bent next to me, his face serious. “I will let him hear you, and feel you, but only for a bit. Then you must come with me, otherwise, you may not be ok.” His eyes turned to those filled with worry and I nodded. He smiled. “Do it now.”

I leant in and hugged Alex, I felt him stiffen and his crying stopped. “I’m ok.” I said into his ear, clinging onto him. His breathing quickened.

“Alice?” He whispered.

“Brother, I’m ok.” I said again, then my body began to move through him.

“Alice? Alice!” He was looking around him but it was too late.

“Alice?” I brushed the tears from my eyes and nodded, standing up.

I took his hand.
