Untitled

The last words uttered weren’t the one

You wanted to hear

And yet, you stayed longer that was expected

Trying to find some light in the dark expressions

Lying now alone in your thoughts

Things don’t piece together

And, conversations you’ve had make no sense

As lies unfold and betrayal runs rampant

The resolve once felt is becoming disheartening

The more you see reality

And what it has laid out for you to encounter

On an exodus you were supposed to traverse together

It’s in these thoughts you remain

For the only familiarity you have

Is within yourself

And the only trust is unseen faith

The last words uttered weren’t the ones

To lead to salvation

But, you took them whole

And let them pierce your heart
