Decades past in this old town
A great man trod the earth –
So great, in fact that masses come
To see his place of birth.

They say that in this very house
The man would daily dress,
And meet his muse, and write his words,
And defecate, I guess.

Now every year upon this day
We celebrate his name,
Ignoring my own day of birth
Whose date is just the same!
