They know what we're going through

They say they've been through it to

And you say times have changed

Teens now are not like teens then

Teens now are more complex

Life is so much harder

They’ve been through it all

The heartache of heartbreak

The stress of peer pressure

The down and dirty disappointment

Of life itself

They say we need to talk more

Because they've been through it all before

On the days you run to your room and cry

Because you feel like you wanna die

That’s when they follow and beat down the door

Until you let them in

They tell you the childhood memory

Of the same story

And you realize
