So this is the first poem I've EVER written and it was 2 years ago. I was in no way depressed when I wrote this, so don't call a therapist. I was actually quite perky. XD But I don't know why, but it is my alltime favorite poem I've ever written, as well as my first. heehee. ENJOY!
Tearful Good-Bye
She saw you with her
She saw your care
The way you hugged her
And stroked her hair

But she shrugged it off
Thought it was nothing
Yet as time went on
It turned into something

She noticed some things
Like your long secret talks
Your attentive stares
Your late midnight walks

When she wants to talk
You push her aside
She knows you don’t love her
So what have you to hide?

‘But why?’ she thought.
‘Why does he not love me?
I’ve always loved him…
Why could he not see?’

And as days went on
When she saw you together
She felt much depression
As you seemed to forget her

So the time had come
When she could bear it no longer
She had no one to turn to
And the pain became stronger

Before, she’d turn to you
But you could not help
Since you were the cause
For the depression she felt

She made up her mind
It had to be done
There was no other way
It could not be shunned

And with knife in hand
She raised it up high
And she uttered her one
Last tearful good-bye

A loud piercing scream
Rang through your mind
You rushed to her room with
No idea what you’d find

You stopped dead in your tracks
When you cam through the door
Your heart had stopped beating
At the sight on the floor

You walk and you kneel
To where she was laying
‘Please be alive’
You’re silently praying

You reach for the wrist
Which held the sharp knife
But you feel no pulse
For she ended her life

You did the unthinkable
You unleashed your tears
‘Cause she had committed
Your one greatest fear

You suddenly realize
You were in love with this girl
Now it’s too late to tell her
Because she’s not in this world

Now weeks have gone by
Since that real tragic day
You kneel by her tombstone
And quietly say,

“I’ll never forget you,
No matter how hard I try.”
And you uttered your one
Last tearful good-bye
