My heart is racing once again

Heavy, like the pouring rain

I hold your hands and stare ahead

My face, I know, you have read.

The silence crushed my beating heart

The tears I’ve held suddenly start

A remorseless shadow stares at me

Thinking “How pathetic can you be”.

I drown myself in tears and wine

Just watching stars above that shine

And paint this moment in my mind

The day when I was left behind.
