Night Dance

At night flowers illuminated by moonlight bright

sway as they do in the day /

See them not do we, but the dance goes on

until dawn, in sweet revere /

For the stars twinkle, the earth she sings,

all this unknown to sleeping things /

Crickets rhythm, cicadas tune,

music for the silver moon /

Alas the morn is here, the dark over, I fear,

but don’t shed a tear for tonight a new dance is born /
