A/N shameless plug alert. For fans of Cupids Wolf who didn't notice, it now has an extra chapter and the start of a sequel. make sure to read ch 31 first before the new story. Also for those who haven't been reading Fur and Feathers by Brinanathewriter, shame on you! read it! it's good!

I packed my things with irritation. I couldn’t believe that my father would order me to stay behind. Did he think that because I didn’t want to rule Nordvor that I didn’t care about my homeland? I shoved more of my supplies into my bags. He’s going to go get himself killed at this rate! The thought stopped me mid packing.

Dead….My father could die…

I heard Jasmine’s soft footsteps approaching.

“Hey…” She said quietly. I turned to her.

“Hey…” I replied tiredly. She walked to where I was and hugged me gently.

“Are you okay babe?” She asked. I blinked and smiled.

“I’m babe now?” I asked. She had the cutest worried expression on her face.

“I…if you want to…I mean I didn’t mean to insult…or…” I kissed her softly.

“Jasmine it’s alright I like it.” I replied, “It actually made me feel better.” You don’t mind when I call you darling do you?” Jasmine blushed slightly.

“No…” She smiled. I leaned into her.

“Good.” I replied.

“Eadel…” She began somewhat uncertainly, “I was thinking about breakfast this morning…and I had an idea.” I pulled away a little to look at her face.

“Okay…” I waited for her to finish.

“Well, I don’t think it’s wise for the two of us to go charging into battle by ourselves. Granted you are a formidable opponent.” I smirked, “but your father is probably going to need help and a lot of it. Since you and Lyden have royal connections I was thinking that we could ask the east and the west for aid. Also I’m pretty sure that I could get Stinger and her group to help…also the people at the fort…why are you looking at me like that?” She asked seeing my expression.

“I love you.” I said unable to convey my feelings any other way.

“I love you too but what do you think of the…” I hugged her tightly, “plan?”

“I think you are absolutely brilliant and thoughtful.” I replied. She smiled.

“Really? I wasn’t sure you’d like the idea. I know you want to hurry to your father but having a plan like this will be more helpful to all of us.” I nodded in agreement.

“You go tell Lyden and Fea. I’ll finish packing.” I said. She nodded and headed to Lyden’s room. After a short while I heard a knock on the door.

“Eadel?” Kercha called.

“Come in Kercha.” I said as I packed the last of my things into my bags.

“I know you are upset about your father but rashly running off after him is no way to…”

“Kercha, that’s not what we’re doing.” I said cutting him off.

“You have a plan?” He asked sounding surprised. I gave him an irritated look.

“Yes we have a plan. We’re going to the other kingdoms to try to get them to aid us.” I explained.

“Eadel that’s…a good idea…” He said sounding more surprised.

“Well it was Jasmine who thought of it.” I admitted.

“She really does balance you out.” Kercha complimented. I nodded with a small smile.

“You don’t have to tell me how lucky I am. She…” I was interrupted by a shirtless Lyden as he dashed down the hallway with Jasmine hot on his heels.

“What did I tell you?!” She shouted after the Earth prince.

“I don’t think that Eadel would like you getting this upset about Fea and I!” He hollered behind him.

“You are not helping your case!” Jasmine growled

I watched the two of them disappear down the corridor and around the corner. I listened to the angry cries of people in the hall way and sighed.

“Lyden is going to get himself killed one of these days…”

“What exactly is…” Kercha stared to say.

“Wait…” I said with a sigh, “They’re doing laps…”

“…and if I ever catch you doing that again then I’m going to do more than kill you!”

“As if you could catch me jasmine!” He retorted.

“Why you snotty little…” they rounded the corner again. I sighed again.

“Shouldn’t you put a stop to this?” Kercha asked. I thought about it for a moment but before I could reply Fea, still working on putting on her clothes joined in on the race.

“Jasmine please don’t kill him!” She yelled as she took off after the two. They rounded the corner again.

“Fea stay out of this!” Jasmine yelled at the girl behind her.

“Jasmine it was both our faults!” Fea persisted as she tried to keep up.

“Don’t apologize my dear!” Lyden yelled at Fea. They once again disappeared from sight.

“Oh I can’t stop them now, it’s just too humorous. Let them wear themselves out.” I said leaning against the door frame to watch the show. They made several more laps. On more than one occasion Jasmine almost caught Lyden but Fea managed to grab onto Jasmine and keep her from her victim.

“Jasmine please I beg you, don’t kill him!” She pleaded.

“Fea I’m not going to kill him, just castrate him.” Jasmine said as she swiped at the blonde boy who barely avoided the attack.

“Jasmine it’s not like he forced me to…” She made a grab to stop Jasmine who tripped into Lyden and sent them all sprawling on the floor at my feet. I raised an eyebrow. They all had the wind knocked out of them.

“Kercha grab Lyden.” I instructed. He did so. I helped Jasmine up and then held her back once she’d regained her breath.

“Darling, don’t make me shut you up, I don’t think the others would like to see that.” I whispered to her. She froze and turned to me with wide eyes.

“You wouldn’t.” She narrowed her eyes. I looked her dead in the eyes.

“Oh but you know I would.” I smiled evilly. She quieted with a defeated look on her face.

“Now,” I continued, “What exactly is going on?”

“Well someone needs to learn how to knock!” Lyden shot at Jasmine. I felt her body tense.

“Why would I knock when I walked into the stables!” She shot back.

“What?” I said with confusion.

“This is really embarrassing…” Fea said softly as she blushed next to Lyden.

“Jasmine I know you mean well but just because they were…getting intimate, granted in a strange place, it still is no reason to…”

“Oh that’s not the problem!” Jasmine growled, “It’s what they were doing it on!” I looked at her confused.

“What are you talking about?” I asked. Her teeth gritted.

“Well before they got ‘intimate’ they were in the midst of packing. Long story short I walked in on the two of them half naked on top of my supplies! They weren’t even in their room, they were loading things onto the camels the fire kingdom is lending us! They were going at it in the stables!” She seethed.

“It’s not like we did it on purpose!” Fea said as she blushed deeper, “And besides you walked in before anything really happened.”

“Ruined the moment that’s what you did.” Lyden huffed. I sighed.

“For the love of…” I looked sternly at each of them, “Okay Lyden be more aware of your surroundings, Fea try to find a room with a lock on it, Jasmine stop trying to kill our allies.”

“Castrate! Not kill!” She pointed out.

“Lyden, Fea, go pack…and actually pack this time.” I added as they walked off.

“Please let me castrate him?” Jasmine pleaded. I laughed and kissed her cheek.

“Come on darling we have to finish our packing as well.” I grabbed her hand and pulled her to the room.

“Have you thought of which kingdom to go to first?” She asked me as I helped her put the last of her things together.

“Well I was thinking that the Earth kingdom would be the best choice. Lyden will certainly be able to get them to give us aid. After that Lyden and Fea can head to the Water kingdom through Nordvor to drop off the reinforcements and we’ll cut through the Middle Kingdom and meet them there. Lyden will be able to supply us with valuable information about how my father is doing up there and may have much needed info to sway the Water Kingdom’s queen.” I explained.

“Won’t going through the middle kingdom be dangerous?” She asked putting a concerned hand on mine.

“Well I don’t have a wind marking on me anymore, there’s no way to prove that I’m the heir.” I shrugged, “They have no problem with mages from the fire kingdom.”

“Still I don’t have a good feeling about it…” She said with unease.

“We’ll lay low and keep to the back roads. It will be alright Jasmine.” I gave her hand a squeeze, “Besides our first concern is getting to the Earth Kingdom without you killing Lyden.” Jasmine rolled her eyes.

“How many times do I have to tell you? Castrate! Not kill!” She asserted. I laughed and kissed her forehead.

“I really do love you darling.” I said.

“I love you too.” Jasmine said pulling me into a hug.

“Oh and I guess we could get them back by returning the favor on their things.” I said with an evil smile.

“Wicked thing.” Jasmine laughed, “But I wouldn’t have you any other way.”

“It’s getting late in the day, we should probably leave tomorrow.” I mused.

“That would be the wisest thing to do.” Jasmine agreed.

“What do you want to do in the mean time?” I asked mischievously.

“Are you suggesting what I think you’re suggesting?” Jasmine asked.

“Revenge?” I asked with a twinkle in my eye.

“Come on…” Jasmine grabbed my hand and led me towards the stables.

“The least you can do is finish loading the camels Lyden.” I replied taking his hand.

“But my sweet we have nothing to be sorry for, we cannot be held accountable for our hearts, our passions!” He declared. I blushed.

“I know, but I’d still like to stay on good terms with her. After all, I can’t count the number of times she’s saved my life.” I thought back to the days in the desert.

“Sometimes I find it hard to understand why Jasmine and Eadel put up with each other.” Lyden said as he and I walked to the stables.

“Well they say that love is blind.” I replied.

“It’d have to be, Jasmine isn’t much to look at.” Lyden grinned, “Unlike you.” I blushed again.

“You’re just being kind.”

“Fea my dear you are absolutely beautiful.” His deep blue eyes gazed at me sincerely. I looked down at my shoes. He cupped my chin gently and turned my face towards him.

“Fea, truly you are.” He asserted.

“Lyden…” I couldn’t think of anything else to say. Someone brushed past me and broke Lyden’s hold on me. We both regained our composure.

“We should get everything ready for the morning.” I said reluctantly.

“As you wish.” He said bowing dramatically. I laughed. He was always able to make me laugh.

“I hope they aren’t too made at us.” I commented as we made our way outside.

“What are you worried about?” Lyden asked.

“Did you see the damage to the training room that Eadel was in?” I asked.

“Oh…I’d forgotten about that…” Lyden said.

“And I remember you told me that Jasmine made Eadel angry and ended up suspended from her fort naked.” I recalled.

“True…” Lyden thought things over.

“I’m just saying that perhaps we should apologize, or do something to make up for this whole thing.” I said.

“Perhaps I’ll apologize to Eadel, but Jasmine did chase me around the palace.” Lyden replied.

“But she’s an illusionist of great skill, I don’t think you’ve ever seen her at her best…I’m not even sure that Eadel has.” Fea replied.

“But they’re only illusions.” Lyden scoffed, “Nothing like the magic that I possess.” His chest puffed out in pride.

“Lyden if you thought you saw me in danger and rushed to my aid, you might find that you’ve run right off a cliff.” I said seriously, “Illusions are nothing to scoff at.” We neared the stables.

“Well let’s hope it doesn’t come to that…if we get on their good side then…” He cocked his ears.

“What?” I asked.

“Do you hear that?” He replied.

“Hear what?” I strained my ears. We walked into the stables and the sight made my jaw drop. Jasmine and Eadel were very publically getting very intimate.

“MY EYES THEY BURN!” Lyden screamed as he ran back outside grabbing my hand and dragging me with him. Once we were a safe distance away we stopped to catch our breath.

“Fea…next time…stop me…before… I…piss them…off.” He said in between breaths. I nodded.

“Definitely…” As we hurried away I could swear that I heard laughter coming from behind us.
