“So I guess this is goodbye…

he whispered slowly, carefully, doubtfully..

I stared at the grass.

We had failed, once again, we were the ones who said that it would be different.

We thought that it was us to win, us to connect the final piece..

We thought that we did it, that we would carry on.

We thought wrong.

“yeah, I guess it is”

“so the journey of the night decends and once again, we die”

it was over for us, no one would remember.

After all, we never existed in the first place….

Moon overhead, I let a lone tear slide.

He did not brush it off as he had always done.

He instead, looked toward the sky and let some of his own escape.

This made me cry even more.

Angel, my trusted friend,

My own other half, was crying.

He took my hand, and slowly walked the opposite way.

“no” my voice shook

“no no no, don’t go, don’t leave me” I cried out to him.

Still in my torn wedding dress I collapsed to the floor.

Heart pounding in pain, mind in agony, I pleaded him to stay.

With each passing second, he drew even more blank.

His black hair blew in the wind, green eyes coated with no emotion.

He stared at me, with nothing….

“PLEASE…PLEASE I LOVE YOU..”

his eyes then reflected many things, love, want, sadness, pain.

“you know we cant destiny” he replied, his voice barly audible.

“ TO HELL WE CANT!!!” destiny replied.

Angel looked taken aback.

Seconds passed, the only sound was destiny’s cries.

“You know, they were supposed to have been dead” said angel.

Destiny saw unwanted memories flood into her mind

“And do you angel take this woman to be your wife?”

“I do.”

Destiny stared at him lovingly, while hanging on to her lilies.

She chose them because when they were in high school, he had given her lilies when they

first went out. Who ever thought they would be getting married? White roses adorned the

pews, and Clair de lune played in the background. Mrs. Angel. Kind of weird, but I liked

it anyways. “ And do you, destiny take this man to be your-“

“MOVE, EVERYONE MOVE” A group of armed men kicked the door open.

Before I knew it, the stain glass windows were broken and smeared with blood. The church pews broken and empty. The roof was caving in, and all I could think of, was the words I was going to say, the words that would have made my life complete. Angel took my hand and ran.

We came to a clearing, and he told me to run. I looked at him blankly and asked about him, he said to keep going. He had wanted me to leave him.

I objected and said that married people don’t leave their partners side. “But we aren’t married yet” he replied.

He crossed his arms and looked at me sternly. The breeze passed by, making the night air

colder, and annoyed I took my hair down. “What are you implying?” I asked nervous. “

Well, it would be better, not to love each other” time stopped, hell froze over.

It was an official deathblow to my heart. “ What?” she replied hoarsely. “ So lets not say

goodbye in sadness”

“So this is goodbye”

Please destiny, I love you, I love you so much. That’s why we can’t be together.

We grabbed each other’s hands and slowly, we parted. He ran his, way, and I ran mine.

I thought about what we had gone through, I thought about when he proposed.

I thought of the times when we had dreamed of jumping of the cliffs, into the ocean.

We dreamt of falling together. Together, hand in hand. My vision burred, and before I

knew it I was on the ground. It didn’t matter anymore, now for the rest of my life I would

be on the run. From those people. From the ones who took my happiness away, who took

my love away? Knowing that I would most likely die in a day or so, I ran back.

I needed to see him again. His loving gaze, his cheesy smile. His glittering eyes. I ran

even faster. I was back at the crossroads. Where we parted. I ran in this direction,

preparing to see his face to jump into his arms. What I saw was different.

“You thought you could get away?”

No.

“You really thought you could escape?”

Please.

“Well too bad”

NO PLEASE.

“Off you go” the soldier smirked and pushed angel off the cliff.

“NO!” destiny screamed, she pushed through the soldiers and dove off the cliff.

She kept falling, she didn’t see angel. “NO,DESTINY!!” she looked up.

He was hanging?

No. He was alive.

And she was, going to die.

Next thing she knew angel was with her.

He held her tightly, he said he loved her.

She responded with two simple words.

“I do.”
