The four girls continued walking and soon broke through the forest but stopped abruptly when they saw a short red-haired man with a pointy hat brandishing a thin stick in their direction. It was Riaden, the wizard.

“Ha! I’ve got you now! Don’t move and I won’t hurt you…well, I will hurt you, just not yet.” Riaden looked incredibly pleased, while the girls were terrified. Except for Acilia, that is.

“Ha yourself! I’m a dragon, magic can’t hurt me.” She took a step forward and inhaled, preparing to burn Riaden into nothing but a pile of ashes. Suddenly she stopped and backed up to where stand with the others. Lanrad stepped out of the shadows to stand next to Riaden.

“I finally caught up to you, dragon,” he stated. “I will kill you and rid this land of horrible dragons forever! And it was so easy. Let me tell you my plan, for it was such a good one.”

The girls sighed and rolled their eyes. Why did every bad guy HAVE to tell their plans? Didn’t they realize that no one cared? They stood there, preparing to be killed by boredom. Fortunately for them, Lanrad didn’t get the chance to continue speaking.

An old man walked up silently behind Riaden and Lanrad and hit them both in the head with the flat side of his sword. He then peeled his face off and it was revealed that he was Miles, the Formidable Knight and Enemy of All Evil Creatures – Mainly Dragons. People just called him Miles, though. His whole title was too long to remember.

In that instant, Airam again drew an arrow to her bow. She was not going to let this old, washed-up, has-been knight kill her new friend. Not if she could help it.

“Hey, hey, hey, relax fair elf! I mean no harm to you or your friends. I no longer hunt dragons and such. I am now on the side of all the magical creatures. I have seen the error of my former ways, and am looking to protect creatures such as yourselves. I know how to get out of here, and will show your dragon friend the way to Dragon Island – a little known safe haven for dragons and other magical creatures.”

Airam looked at her friends and they nodded, trusting this guy, for no reason other than the fact that he saved them from the wizard and the other knight. As soon as she lowered her bow the ninja Souzetsu reappeared and stood next to Miles as Miles turned and started to walk away. Souzetsu motioned with his hand for the four girls to follow, and they did. They were on their way to a place where they could be happy and have frolicking fun all day long.

The woodland creatures and all the other animals, including humans, rejoiced to rid their land of silly nonsense like magic, fairies, and talking animals.
