I'm back with a new story, my old one I have writers block so hopefully I can work on that one as well as this one!
"Hey you got me, sorry can't answer just leave a message." Looking back up at the screen she quickly read the persons' name and took a deep breath as the line beeped.
"Good evening Mr. Layne, this is Dr. Constantine's office making sure you were coming in for your appointment." Keeping it short and to the point she hung up and stifled a groan as the phone rang. "Dr. Constantine's office." She said plesantly, pulling up the schedule of appointments and waiting for the person on the other end.
"Oh, uh yeah I was wondering if I could schedule an appointment." Nodding and scanning the page she spotted an empty slot and tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear.
"Yes we have an opening on July 3rd at 4:30." Hearing the sharp intake of breath she rolled her eyes. "Would that be okay?"
"Er, yes that will be fine." Double clicking on the empty slot she fought a sigh as the week filled up completely. So much for having a day much less an evening off for that matter...
"Name?" She asked, her fingers poised over the keys; she saw the door open and glanced up but the person was too deep in shadwo cast from the setting sun, quickly returning her gaze to the screen she motioned for the person to shut the door and sit down.
"Neco...I mean Necolas, Necolas Pope." Frowning at his accent she typed in his last name and nothing came up on the screen.
"Have you been here before Mr. Pope?" She let her eyes drift over to the person who just came in and felt her heart beginning to beat eratically in her chest...why was she getting nervous all of a sudden?
"No ma'am a friend recommended you...well Dr. Constantine." Nodding and tilting her head to the side she closed her eyes; a headache was beginning to form right behind her eyes, she needed a break.
"When you come in I will need more information." Her voice was still plesant and full of nothing but joy...her eyes saddened as she looked at the picture on her desk, if only I could make my life like that...
"Yes that's fine." Trying to keep her voice the same tone she took a deep breath.
"We look forward to seeing you Mr. Pope, have a good evening." With that said she hung up and leaned back in her seat with a groan before turning her attention to the man sitting across from her.
"May I help you Sir?" Her eyes widened as pale green orbs stared back at her from beneath dark brows.
"Yes I'm here for my appointment." Quickly looking away and rising to her feet she suddenly felt extremely self-concious in her skirt as she knocked on her bosses door and poked her head inside in time to see him hang up his phone and smile.
"Mr. Layne is here for his appointment." A shiver creeped up her spine as Dr. Constantine's gray eyes flashed in the dimly lit room.
"Thank you Singe," he stated eloquently, rising to his feet and pausing next to her. "Remember, no matter how much you deny it; you will always know their names." Closing her eyes with a sigh and heading back to her seat as Dr. Constatnine greeted the man.
"Micah, it is good to see you again." Smiling hesitantly as he looked over at her she calmly grabbed her purse and keys before rising to her feet.
"I'll be back in twenty minutes." Seeing her boss nod, as he led Micah into the office, she left and crossed the street to the twenty-four hour Starbucks.
"Have you explained this to her?" Micah's eyes saddened turning the hue almost to the color of emeralds.
"Only as far as 'Hello'...it's like I am at war with myself and can't decide which to do!" Lurching to his feet and beginning to pace he felt like a caged animal.
"Do you think it is because of Apollo?" Freezing as his words sunk in, Micah felt his eyes widen in realization; turning and staring at Dr. Constantine who stared at him with a small smile on his full lips as he slightly nodded his head. "You still fear judgement, I know her very well Micah she is not judgemental...it will be your choice as of which, will she know or not." Frowning deeply and easing back into his seat Micah stared at Dr. Constantine.
"I don't even know anything about her..." he whispered, a feeling of self-loathing rising within him. "Hi my name is Micah, I think you're gorgeous adn oh I was raped for four years of my life by my pack leader." Burying his face in his hands with a disgusted groan, he saw Dr. Constantine's eyes soften and a sad grin pull at his lips.
"Micah that is not what I mean, take it one day at a time she is a caring woman; would I ever lead you astray?" Glaring at him through his fingers Micah sighed heavily and shook his head.
"No...you've done wonders for me...just there is something abotu her that sets my blood on fire." He paused and blinked, "and today was probably the first time she has actually noticed me." Smiling and opening his mouth Dr. Constanting stopped as the front door opened and the clicking of Singe's heels on the tile threshold caught his attention.
"Singe could you come in here for a moment?"
"I wish to know of my new appointment on July 3rd." Leaning against the door frame and pursing her lips Singe narrowed her eyes and sighed.
"New, someone referred him." She stated leaving the room without a backwards glance, shutting the door behind her.
Swallowing Micah tried to calm his rapidly beating heart, her scent for just that few seconds seemed to permiate the entire room; breathing deeply he felt a sudden sense of peace wash over him like never before. "Her scent is very calming isn't it." Nodding and closing his eyes he knew he would never forget her invigorating smell not even after he died...
"She's everything that I've been craving and needing in a person." He said softly, slowly opening his eyes and staring at the door, longing to see it open and hear her voice again. Renching his gaze away and returning it to Dr. Constantine he opened his mouth when a loud beep echoed throughout the room, startling both of them. Frowning Dr. Constantine walked over to his phone and pressed the speaker button.
"Alexander Constantine."
"London is here...he says its urgent." Micah watched as an unnamed emotion flash across Dr. Constantine's face.
"Tell him I'll be out shortly," Turning off the speaker Dr. Constantine sighed heavily and smiled at Micah. "Looks like I have to cut this short, I'll push back another appointment tomorrow if you would like." Returning his smile Micah shook his head and rose to his feet.
"I'll call, my job is getting real hetic lately." Nodding and opening the door Dr. Constantine frowned as he spotted the person waiting on him practically flirting with Singe!
"London come on I have to work." She smiled as delight shone in his eyes and his face brightened.
"What I have to say to Alexander is gonna warrent you a day off ma' chere'." Her smile instantly faded as she looked up at him, "oh don't worry its nothing major, well too major." Unease gnawed at the pit of her stomach as the door opened revealing Dr. Constantine, and she knew by the frown on his face and gleam in his eyes he was pissed.
"Singe, keep tomorrow open if Mr. Layne calls and sets up an appointment do it." Raising an eyebrow at his tone she inclined her head once and felt her gaze involentarily move to Mr. Layne as he brushed past Dr. Constantine and stop as London moved blocking her from view. A tense silence hung in the room, like a snake; coiled and ready to strike at any moment.
"London." Her voice was soft as if speaking louder would cause the tenson between Micah and London to snap. Glancing over his shoulder piercing azure blue met with smoldering gold, "I need to speak with Mr. Layne." She noticed the muscles in his shoulders tense before he stiffly nodded and stalked towards the office followed by Dr. Constantine. "Forgive him, he doesn't understand Wereanimals." Noticing his eyes widen she shrugged a shoulder and gave him a half grin, "I've got a gift for knowing what supernatural creatures people are." She lied, before handing him a business card and smiling before glaring at the phone as is rang. "Have a nice evening Mr. Layne." She smiled picking up the phone and watching him leave, "Dr. Constantine's office."
