If Hockey were like the Game of Love

He Shoots, he…

Is blocked by the net doing a one-eighty,

So he skates around, mindful of the undulating bumps,

On this section of the rink,

At the present moment in time…

If Hockey were like the Game of Love.

The puck is being slapped around,

Then it makes a whistling sound,

And teleports to different ground,

But the players hardly care,

They see it being normal,

If Hockey were like the Game of Love.

The very rink takes a form,

Hills and valleys just appear,

If you want a level playing field,

You will not find it here,

Sometimes an uphill battle,

If Hockey were like the Game of Love.

They’re deadlocked in a tie, isn’t this nice?

And it’s the final period,

What’s this? A third team just ran onto the ice,

And they are winning,

You can join whenever you want,

If Hockey were like the Game of Love.

Part of the rink spontaneously expanded,

And now the home team can’t get,

Anywhere near the visitors’ net,

Because a flock of chickens is blocking the way,

But they don’t call that foul play,

When Hockey is like the Game of Love
