Walk with me, through deathly vale

Tomb to tombstone, grave to grave

Where dead ones come from ages past

And future fates not yet engraved

All around their secret whispers

Subtle tales yet untold

Silent, loud, and in-between

A thousand mouths to your two ears

A million words for you to hear

None more worthy than the next

Searching for a living soul

To find their stories, pay them heed

And hear the insight in their creed

So take my hand; I’ll be your guide

Through the whispers of the past

The lens that lets you see the stars

Through the clouds of veiled glass

I make things clear; I show the track

I know all paths to where they lead

Though every path leads to this place,

What matters lies along the way

When trails touch and skew away

The trials faced from day to day

And month to month and year to year

The twists and turns and loops of fate

We remember every tale

And tell them for the quiet ear

Who listens well and knows not all

A cautious mind that feels fear

But in its grasp will never fall

We wait and wait for such a mind

To reach our place and find my hand

To wander through our deathly vale

Where knowledge sleeps so undisturbed

Till it can rise, and truth avail.
