The Storm

Raindrops trickling down the window,

The winds power never halting their flow.

Clouds give the puddles of tears,

The thunder and lightning finding children’s fears.

Bright lights flash from the city below,

Buildings standing tall against the winds blow.

The young ones seek warmth in their mother’s arms,

Shielded against the storm’s violent harms.

As the clouds disappear, leaving the soft soil wet,

The children soon ease in bed to no longer fret.

Sleep drawing their eyes closed, the Sandman having come back,

The parents and their children hit the sack.

The rising sun, just minutes away,

Lead the peoples’ minds and dreams blissfully astray.
