She walks among the stars of night,
She speaks with tongues known to no man,
Her light is pure and knows no bounds,
She softly treads the golden sands.
She is not of our simple kind,
Long ago she came to this place,
From greater lands, so far away,
All are blessed by her beauty and grace.
He knows not how to compare with this;
She is such a fair and fine maiden,
With her sweet summer smile,
And her eyes are with diamonds laden.
He wishes she will one day love him,
He follows her wherever she goes,
She taunts him with her songs of love,
He hides it well, but inside she knows.
He feels her warmth on the tips of his fingers,
Her love is only just beyond his grasp,
If only he’d stretch farther and longer,
They would be together at long and at last.
He let go of his hope that he had held for so long,
He let the fear that had once been inside,
Take over him and lessen his sight,
The man at heart could no longer hide.
She saw the fear; the pain in his eyes,
She felt his want to flee from her gaze,
She mourned for his pitiful weakness,
He was only a child lost in a maze.
Fear not the day and lose not your hope,
For what you know not; what you have not tried.
Remember that we cannot know life,
Until all is at end; until we have died.
