Remember

The sun remembers. The smiles.

The sky remembers. The eyes turned upwards.

The clouds remember. The imaginations.

Each drop of rain remembers. The tingle when coming in contact with skin.

Every blade of grass remembers. The imprint of a joyous body relaxed.

The sea remembers. The laughter and frolicking.

The waves remember. The gliding of a body within a body of water.

The stars remember. The wishes.

My skin remembers. The heat of every tear.

My tears remember. The gravity of it all. The rain dancing with them on a face.

The rain remembers that too.

And with the entire world remembering, I wonder why it is, that I can’t?

I don’t remember the fleeting warmth of embraces.

I don’t remember the ease of trust.

I don’t remember the joy of youth.

But I’m ready to try.
