Jin-Niji

It was a dark night in London. A man was rushing through the streets with his son clutching tightly on his hand. They rushed through the shadows, avoiding the light from the street lamps as they ran. Soon the man ascended the porch steps up to the large wooden door.

The boy followed as the man soon opened the door and the pair went inside. They soon entered the place the man pulling his son through the door and out of sight. The pair were both out of breath as they entered the dark room. “Father, why are we at your office? What happened to mother?” Neju said.

“Shhh, I have a secret to tell you,” Shange replied. Outside the clouds had laced the skies in darkness, as a storm started to rise up from the heavens. Neju stood a couple of feet away from his father in the hallway of his doctor’s practice.

It was one sudden crash of lightening lit up the room for a moment and slowly faded away. Shange pulled Neju close though he was still frightened of what he had witnessed a while ago. Neju hardly seen his father from days on end and he believed he was helping ill people that lived within the area.

--------------------

Yet tonight's incident left Neju puzzled and horrified. It was early evening back their family home, he recall his mother being in her bedroom, getting ready to go out somewhere.

Neju does recall some friction between his father and mother. He hears the occasional fights between them, and often he hears his mother accuses his dad for being insane and mentally disturbed.

Neju always remained in the shadows just in case his father finds him and does something bad to him. “Please stop fighting... Please...” Neju whispers.

Neju remained glued to the wall yet heard the front door open and went over onto the landing and looked down. To his surprise his father and some mysterious man was down there. It was like his father wasn't in the room or the house.

It looked like he returned him with a friend of his. He kept hidden behind the railing and watched as his father lead his visitor in then closed the front door behind him. He then ascended up the stairs and headed across the landing yet paused to see his son there.

“Neju, why aren't you in bed?” Shange said.

“I was wondering when you were coming home,” Neju said in concerned voice. Shange looked at him.

“My dear son, I need you to you get dressed. We are going somewhere,” He said.

“What?” Neju said as he watched his father turn and headed towards the bedroom.

“I'll tell you once we leave,” He said.

Neju watched as his father entered the bedroom door and looked down on the floor. There, lying still was on the floor was his mother. Neju came to the door and looked weirdly at the body. Shange looked at Neju.

“Go get dressed!” He barks as Neju cowards outside the door way. His eyes looked at the floor.

“Why is mother on the floor? Did she faint or something?” Shange shot an angry look at his son.

“Neju! Go get dressed now!” He yelled.

Neju saw somewhat anger or was it fear dashed with a hint of joy in his father's eyes. Neju wasn't going to stick around he soon fled to his room. Shange stood over the body and smiled, he touched her back to find the shattered mid section.

“I broke your mama's back. I hope he don't hear it,” Shange didn't notice Neju outside the door as he whispered that saying. Neju then backed away and continued to walk then slowly broke into a run. The thumping soon drew Shange to the door and saw his son running down the stairs.

“Neju, stop!” He called out to his running son.

“No!” Neju said fearful voice as he headed towards the front door.

“Neju, please wait for me!!” Shange yelled desperately. Neju froze as his father soon came down the stairs and over to where he stood by the door. From there he grabbed Neju's hand and they left into the night.

--------------------------------

Now Neju was being pulled up stairs inside his father's doctor's office into a room on the top floor. It was there Shange decided it was safe to light some oil lamps while Neju looked about the room.

It was filled with shelves of books, weird statues, and scrolls. There was even a ladder in there with various other items about. Shange sat down behind his desk while Neju was coaxed into a leather chair that sat opposite him.

“Neju, I know things have been strange between your mother and me,” He said.

“You keep hurting her...” Neju said looking upset.

“She keeps thinking what I do for a living is utter nonsense,” Shange said looking at his son. Neju looked around the room.

“But you’re a doctor...” He said.

“I am. That's just to cover up for what I really do. You see our family bloodline have been cursed. It’s a long story but we must practice the art of Jin-Niji. It is the art of using mind psychic. You can tap into people’s heads and cause them to have bad luck that could kill them. It’s an art that is deadly, yet even if you fail to use it. You could face a horrid fate. You are going to be a believer, my dear son. Your mother thought old sayings and threats were mere rubbish. You're here to strike fear into peoples lives. Continue this practice that you must learn to control and become more powerful in your mind,” He said.

Neju's eyes widen as he could feel his father's psychic flow right into his own. Shange gave a subtle smile.

“Is this why mother thinks you're crazy!” Neju spat yet recoiled at his out burst.

“Neju, bad luck is real. It exists but who is it to prove, it can cause far more to people's lives. Why do you think people get ill? Half the time it’s all in the head. I know there are other logical explanations but it all leads back to one thing...”Shange said leaning onto the desk top closer to his scared son.

“I don't understand...” Neju said.

Shange was closer to the end of the desk at a slight standing sitting position.

“People believe in superstitions. The mind sends the warnings of whether it’s a threat to them. In terms of fact, Jinx might come into play,” He said. Neju eyes widen bigger and his lips quivered.

“I'm really scared!!!” He whimpers in terror. His father soon sat down again some what enjoying the situation.

“Because I can tell through seeing and hearing you. I can look into your eyes into your mind. I know you are scared. My son, I hope you stay true because if you try and break out of this curse you may die. You can’t live without a mind, a mind that is powerful that it can do anything beyond anyone's imagination,” He smirks evilly.

“I can’t become so cold-hearted!!!” Neju said with bit of strength since he was utterly scared. Shange leans back on his chair.

“Beware of what you say, because it could jeopardize your life,” He said. The words echoed through Neju's mind like a cold wind striking his soul...

Year 1896 Westminster England...

Neju woke up in a cold sweat and squinted at the clock on the bedside draws. 3:40am in the morning, Neju wasn't in the mood of returning to slumber after his nightmarish flash back. He collapsed back on the pillow and stared up at the ceiling. It had been 20 years since Neju fled; his father was some what killed off. Neju fears that whoever behind it is going to be after his life next.

So far Neju kept low profile of his life, yet did practice his psychic powers and try not to use them in a negative way. Neju had chosen an occupation as a psychologist to teach a worthily apprentice to help. During a time, which people either believed talking to one doctor will give them all the answers to their problems?

Soon as 8:00 am slowly came Neju already was ready to start his work. He spent time looking throughout his patient’s problems and coming up with resemble solutions.

“Morning, Mr. Muse!” Will greeted as he watched his boss entered the office.

“Morning, William.” Neju stifles with a yawn. Will knew all too well that Neju is an one man who suffering insomnia and it showed.
“Another restless night? I can’t help noticing it,” Will replied as Neju slumped behind his desk. Will was Neju's apprentice.

Neju owns his own practice in the local district. Neju was thirty-five now, his hair was red with bleach tips and fringe slightly covered his blue eyes. Neju wore suit with crisp white linen shirts with red or black ribbon ties. He looked like a clown trying to be a businessman.

“Well, whom do we have to see to today?” Neju asks his apprentice.

“Well Mrs. Verine Kun is coming today. She's still scared of sunlight sir,” Will said.

Neju groans in his mind thinking how ridiculous it sounds.

“This phobia is getting a little hard to solve. Then I will take action,” He said.

Outside a carriage pulled up, a red-headed woman concealed under a veil waited for her husband to help her out of the carriage. It was from there the pair entered the building, Will greeted them and led Mrs. Kun into Neju's office. Neju stood up from behind his desk and went over to the woman.

“Welcome Mrs. Verine Kun, Would you care to have a seat?” Neju showed the woman to the lounge laid-back chair. She moved and sat down. Neju pulled his chair over to sit beside the lounge. He had his pad and pencil in hand and looked at the woman.
“Please relax, lie back and we will begin.” He prompted his patient.

“Is there anything I can do doctor?” Verine asks Neju. The doctor thought for a moment

“Basically you have to understand, you have to learn to face your phobia and fears. Most of the time our mind brings up a past incident that causes you to believe that something is wrong. Firstly I like to do something to show you on a smaller scale that sunlight isn't anything to fear,” He said. Neju had got up and went to the curtains and drawn them shut.

It was from there he lit a lamp and brought back to the sit.

“What are you doing? Why is it so dark?” Verine panics.

“I want you to remove your veil; does this light hurts you anyway?” Neju said
Mrs. Kun removed her veil and looked at the lamp that Neju held.

“Light is a thing we can’t live without. Our bodies and our minds need the sunlight for vitamin D. If the sun never existed life wouldn't exist. Sunlight is nothing different to a lit oil lamp or fire. It radiates warmth we all much need. Sure there is the downside for too much sunlight is that what you fear?” Neju smiled.

Mrs. Kun stared at Neju. It was like she was picking up on his psychic, Neju didn't know what the woman was doing yet had a small sharp pain inflict in his head. He soon shook his head and then returned to the curtains and opened them again.

The sunlight had reappeared in the room the woman tired to avoid its light. Neju blew the lamp out and notice the woman in the shadowy part of the room.

“Mrs. Kun. I want you to come here, the sunlight is just light. Light doesn't hurt you.” He said. Verine looked at him then at the lamp.

“I can’t look at it,” She said.

“You can, the light isn't killing me.” Neju replied. It was then the door was opened and Will was trying to stop Mr. Kun from entering.

“Please, sir, he isn't finished here.” Will said as Lan ignored his warning.

“I have a deadline to meet. My dear, are you done?”Lan said as he waited for his wife to get off the chair.

“We haven't finished our session here” Neju said prompted Verine to remain seated. Lan stepped forward.

“My wife is supposed to be cured,” He hissed.

“Unless she learns to face her fear and lets her mind allows her to let go. Then she can be cured,” Neju said as he watched his patient walk towards him.

“Well he is the one,” She whispers. Neju stood on his ground.

“You will be billed Mr. Kun. I hope you filled out the forms. I will keep your wife on file,” He said as he watched the pair leave.

“I already paid. Thank you for your service.” Lan said.

Mr. Kun shot a cold look at Neju and then turned taking his wife out of the room. Neju sense a suspicious vibe from them. Will watches as they left his office and closed the door.

“I serious think something is wrong here.” Neju said as he sat down again.

“Shall we continue with the next patient?” Will asked him. Neju scratches his head.

“Not now,” He said.

“Why sir?” Will questioned his boss. Neju couldn't say why because it relays back to his father's warning.

Neju has been on edge and have been careful not reveal himself to anyone about his mind powers. Neju had a faint vibe enter his mind. He picked up on some strange connection in that woman's mind.

“William, I’m going to go home.” He said packing his bag.

“What about the rest of the patients?” William asks. Neju headed towards the door way and turned.

“I will do them when I feel better.” He said.

Neju looked quite pale, but he needed to go home. Neju's pale cream skin was turning white before Will's eyes.

“Well, OK, you probably should go. I will reschedule them,” William said. Neju nodded “Thank you,” Then he left. Meanwhile far down the street, there came the carriage with Mr. and Mrs. Kun inside. Mrs. Kun removed the veil and exposed her face.

“We shall leave the death note on his doorstep.” Verine said.

“I already had that done. The ball has been played into his court,” Lan replied. Verine looked at her husband.

“We will soon destroy Neju and then we can be claimed as the most powerful physics in London,” She said.

“I will be,” Lane replied with a laugh.

Meanwhile Neju had caught a carriage ride back to his house. His mind has been sending him messages that danger is upon him. He didn’t know what to expect because he never used his powers to a certain extent. The carriage soon stopped outside his home. Neju soon got out of the carriage and went to the door.

Neju opened it and felt his feet brushed against something on the floor. Neju looked down to see an envelope address to him bearing an unusual frightening symbol. That moment Neju picked up the envelope and closed the door.

“Why do I fear this?” Neju said as he places his bag down and heard a meow. Neju looked down to see a black cat sitting at his feet.

“I don’t have a cat... what is it doing here?” He said. The cat soon walked into the lounge, it was from there Neju followed and almost frozen.

The living room was crammed with black cats. At least 20 black cats scattered about the room. Neju remembers the old saying; if a black cat crosses your path you have bad luck. Neju totally stood in awe as everything that his father said came flying back to him. This time the cats seem to have another purpose. Neju didn’t think a black cat radiates bad luck vibes or negativity; it’s an animal that people picked due to the association of black cats with witches.

“This day just got weirder...” He said. The cats soon paused and sat up facing Neju who still remained in the hallway outside the lounge. Neju could feel each cat's psychic mind was set to obey him.

Neju entered the room slowly as he eyed off his favorite chair where a one cat was sitting comfortably on. Neju reached the chair and stared down at the black silk-coated cat.

“Um, can you move please?” Neju asks as the cat stretched and arched its back then moved onto the arm of the chair. Neju had never seen obedient cats before. Neju sat down in the chair and held the letter in his hands. He stared at the skull, which had the top half of it removed, and the brain showing.

Neju eventually opened the letter, the cat soon climbed back off the armrest onto Neju's lap. Neju felt the cat rub against his chest and claw his leg Neju winced a bit until the cat curled up comfortably.

“Is this someone's idea of a joke...” He said as he noticed all the cats were eyeing him out. They all sat up on the floor except for the one in his lap. He could sense that they were all waiting for him to read the note.

Dear Mr. Muse

I know your secret, I willing to use it against you at all costs...
If you don’t fulfill my requests, consider yourself to be hunted down and destroyed.
You have 120 hours to kill the wealthy well-known people on my death list.
Using my stealth army I supplied you with, they will do the locating you do the rest.
You cannot call for help, no police or authority, you will be considered dead.
If I (he/she) had a brain, I (he/she) would be dangerous...

Neju's fear was rising up inside of him; he didn’t want to even be in a situation like this. Then he looked at the cats. He somewhat felt they were like 20 men staring at him in disguise as cats.

Neju the pulled the other page off the back of the note and stared at the list. He read intently, his growing wider and wider over each name on there.

Death List...
Cornelia Deville- Millionaire Heiress

Michaelis Wood - Museum Owner/Art dealer
Dice Blackhand- Underground trade dealer/ Black market

Mordecai Edogawa - Business man / Owner of biggest bank in London
Tamara Sanchez- Police Commissioner’s daughter

What do these people have to do with anything? They are all well known. Why would whoever want these people dead?” Neju looked down at the cat on his lap; they were still waiting for his commands. Neju carefully nudge the cat off his lap and stood up.

He couldn’t do much now; his life is on the line. Someone is out to kill him unless he succeeds in killing the following people.

“I have hardly a choice...” He sighs looking at his furry guests. Meanwhile Lan-kun and his Mistress Verine watched through their looking glass mirror at the worried Neju.

“You think he will perform his task. We have given him ample time...” She said.

“It's simple, really. Just give the devil his dues. In this case, Neju isn’t worthily of having Jin-Niji powers. Sure he was cursed to have and hardly uses them properly. This allows me to rest my mind and allow someone innocent to endure the fear of being discovered for whom they really are,” Lan said as he spotted the tray of muffins.

“I hope you're right.” Verine said as she notices Lan’s distraction look.

“Have you ever doubted me before?” He said looking at Verine again.

“What about the Eradicators Society?” Verine asks staring into Lan’s eyes.

“We set Neju up so he can be destroyed, after I drain his mind and make him a weak man.” He said as walked over to a tray, plucked a muffin and held it in his hand.

Verine joined him and coiled her arms around his waist.

“Shall we adjourn to the bedroom...?” Verine purrs into Lan’s ear.

“I must keep an eye on Neju,” Lan said as he shrugged his wife off.

“Fine.” Verine soon left the room, while Lan-kun started munching on a muffin and kept an eye on the mirror.

Meanwhile in Westminster Police Department, Michael Hinslay was finishing up on a mound of paper work until he came across an envelope.

“What is this?” Michael plucked the envelope and notices the embossed symbol of the Eradicators on the back. Michael looked about making sure no one was looking and opened the envelope. He read it carefully and realized the Grand Master of the society to discuss an issue that has arisen had called him in.

Michael soon pocketed the note and grabbed his bag. He then pursued to leave the police station.

“I wonder what the Grand Master wants to see me about,” Michael soon stopped to notice that his ride had been waiting for him.

He could see inside a distinguish man in the shadows. Michael recognized the symbol on the carriage door was surprised that the Grand Master had come to him very desperately. The horseman climbed down from the front and opened the door. Michael soon saw the Grand Master sitting inside.

“Michael please come in quickly,” Einzel said. “Yes, master.” Michael climbed into the carriage and the horseman closed the door. Michael hasn’t been privately with the Grand Master; it surprised him that he ventured outside the compound.

His sanctuary where his practice and nurturing great minds so they never stray. Society for psychics that uses their powers for good purposes. They also seek ones that fail or practice the art of Jin-Niji.

The Grand Master knows about the Muse family and how they seemed to miss-use their powers. Then again they were cursed and force to use them only in negative ways.

“Grand Master, if this has to do with the lack of attendance...” Michael said before Einzel cut in.

“I understand your outside job, Mr. Hinslay. I’m glad you’re still using your gift in an unusual way.” The grand master said. Michael smirks.

“I still leave people wondering how I do it,” He chuckles.

“They won’t believe you. A lot of people chose to not believe in magic.” Einzel said in a concerned voice. Michael stopped laughing.

“It isn’t magic, Sir...” He said as Einzel looked out the window.

“Michael, I came here because I’m in need of your help.” He said then returned to looking at Michael.

“What is your purpose?” Michael questions
“We have been given a tip off. Neju is still here. He went home early from his work and hasn’t come out of his house since. Another odd thing was a pack of black cats had broken into his house,” Einzel said as he shifted a little in his seat.

“Maybe Neju brought some pets?” Michael said yet Einzel wasn’t following him.

“I want you to be aware of Neju. He is cursed; he could be out to cause danger,” He said firmly. Michael leant forward, eagerly to know.

“Do you have any more information?” He asks.

“I just want you to use your psychic and work out what is going on,” Einzel said playing with his ring.
“I can’t be deterred from my work.” Michael added into the conversation.

“Well if something does happen within the next twenty-four hours, I want you on the trail.” Einzel said expecting his pupil to do so.

“I will keep my eyes out then.” Michael said with a nod. Eyes see everything but themselves. I must continue back to the compound.

The carriage soon stopped outside Michael's residence. Michael noticed it and turned to the Grand Master he waved his hand ushering him to leave. Michael grabbed his bag and left the carriage onto the footpath. He watched the carriage leave.

By then the sun was slowly drifting over the rooftops and the street lamps were being lit. Night was falling upon them. Michael approached the front shuffled his hand in his coat pockets and pulled out the front door key. He then entered closing the door and placing his bag on the floor.

He then removed his coat and walked into the lounge to his chair and collapse into it. He still had the letter with him and placed it on the table. He then opened his cigar box and plucked one out. He then grabbed a match and lit his cigar end and blew some smoke circles into the air.

“So, the Muse family still exists. Those traitors, though I know Neju hasn’t used any ounce of power yet. How ever his father was far more consumed to continue inflicting it on others. I wish we knew who begun this bitter tear in society. I shall take one perfectly smart intelligent man and then change him into a bitter, cold-hearted man,” He said as he watched the smoke float slowly then faded away.

That day soon ended yet the chaos waiting to be unleashed is yet to occur.

Day 1: Target - Cornelia Deville

Neju couldn't sleep at all, the fact he woke up to find those cats all over his bed. The loud purring noises making such a humming sound in the air. Neju laid still, his mind reeling after his horrid discovery.

“I’m still surrounded by 20 black cats again. I have been given the duty to kill five important people, that's something obvious the criminal wants me to do,” He said as he looked up to see a cat right near his face.

It was clawing his blanket and was attempting to claw his face. Neju sat up quickly and the cat jumped off.

“Can you please get down!” Neju scorns. The cats started meowing and growling.

Neju looked at them all again. He soon notice them giving up and obey him. They all climbed and jumped off the bed onto the floor. Neju sighed, it was then the phone rang made Neju jumped. He wondered who it was and whether he should answer it. He attempted to leave the bed but one of the cats raced out of the room.

Neju watched it run to the table where the phone sat and it eventually knocked it off the table and stood on it. Neju gasped as the cats soon surrounded his feet. Neju seem to be relieved that he doesn't have a fear of cats.

But to have abnormal black cats following you around is more eerie than having people. Neju realize he is now a prisoner in his own home. Who knows what the cats will do to him.

“I assume you are hungry?” He said in a grumpy voice. The cats’ ears perked up to the word and they all started meowing. Neju then walked into the kitchen grabbed the milk then started placing out plates and bowls on the ground. The cats rushed over to the milk offerings and began drinking.

Neju had the list in his hand and grimly looked at them. The first person to knock off was wealthy heiress Cornelia Deville. Neju had seen her once or twice with her rich husband at various events. Neju never mixed with the upper crust snobs, the high-class runners in London. Something else Neju notice is that there are no details on where these people lived.

“I see, do you all know where these people live, don't you?” He said though he couldn't hear much of reply they all seemed to be busy licking the remains of the milk and cleaning themselves.

Neju's wondering this animal form of habits reflects in their human state, he doesn’t want to see a man licking himself after a meal. Neju soon got up and went back to his room and he closed the door to stop the cats invading while he dressed.

“I wonder who was trying to call me. What if it was Will? I couldn’t answer the phone. I need to escape away from here!!!” He panics as he looked out side down onto the street where people were walking about. Neju then looked back at the door to his room.

He notices the doorknob jiggling trying to turn and open the door. Neju's heart was racing as the doorknob continued turning. Neju rushed over and tried and stops the door from opening. He could sense that the cats using their minds to open the door through, but he also sensed someone else.

“Mr. Muse, are you in here?” William said through the front door. Neju couldn’t believe to hear Will's voice on the other side of the door.

“William is that you? How did you get in?” He questions as William entered.

“I tried calling you earlier but you didn’t answer the phone. Apparently your front door was unlocked, but I’m sorry for entering like this...” He apologizes.

Neju opened the door and was relieved to see Will standing there. Meanwhile Lan-kun eyes were fixated and his mind and ears listen and watch through the mirror.

“Neju, you better not spill anything to that boy!” Lan hisses.

Neju soon stepped out uneasily into the hall and notice and heard nothing. No sound of cats purring, meowing or even moving.

“I’m sorry Will, I can’t come to work today,” He said, stretching.

“Your face still seem off-coloured, sir,” William said looking at his pale face.

“I know you’re my apprentice, but its time you start treating some patients when I’m not well. Hire a new assistant.” Neju said.

“But, sir, what is wrong?” William questions his boss’s sudden resignation and promotion to him.

Neju walked up to the front door and peer outside. He couldn’t tell will about his threat or anything about his double side in Jin-Niji. He turned and face Will and placed his hands on both of his shoulders.

“Will, I think you’re very capable to fill in my shoes?” He said in weak voice.

“You’re retiring?” William said in a surprised reaction.

“It’s just I need a break from work, I’m suffering from stress and I can’t function or focus well...” Neju said.
“You sure sir?” William said as Neju produces the keys to the business.

“Here take the keys; I'll be taking the rest of the week off. I'll come back, don’t worry.” Neju said handing the keys over to Will.

“I'll come back when I feel better.” He puts on a smile for William’s sake.

“Thank you sir,” William said from there he went out the front door off down the street.

Neju sighed; he had to let Will take over sometime. Neju's attention was more on how the front door was opened. He defiantly locked it up. It was then it dawned on him. The cats must have escaped. But all of them couldn't just left it didn’t seem right. It was then he spun around and there at least nineteen stood. Neju notice one had disappeared.

“OK, one cat must have gone out to hunt down the first victim. All of you opened the door. Then you all hid away when Will walked in is that right?” He said looking at the cats, they weren’t going to admit what they did.

Neju realizing how insane this is sounding. Yet he paused as he can hear purring inside his mind, the thumping of paws, people talking and walking. It was the one cat that was on the path to find the first victim. Neju was shocked that he was hearing this.

It was from there the cats surrounded him and wanting to usher Neju upstairs. He could hear them forcing him to go up to the second floor. Meanwhile Cornelia was inside the Westminster Museum having a loudly discussion with Museum owner Michaelis Wood.

“I thought we agreed to have the Ruby of Centaura on display today!” Cornelia said as she walked alongside Michaelis.

“I was studying the item, Mrs. Deville, yet I haven’t had received the delivery from the vault it’s kept in. Mordecia said he will have it here by 9:30am today,” He said looking at his pocket watch.

“Why isn’t it here? I have my friends and people from the press coming today!” Cornelia snaps at the museum owner.
“I’ll go and phone Mr. Edowaga,” Michaelis said as he headed away from the old woman.
“Fine I’ll be waiting out in the lobby,” She said. Cornelia soon turned and left.

She continued walking briskly along the empty hall unaware that she was being watched. Cornelia wasn't the young woman was she use to be. She was about mid 50's stringy body, winkles starting to bulge on her pale flesh.

Her make up seem well over done, she looked more like a man in rags than a high-class society woman. Relying on her cane to keep her upright and moving. She was already suffering some bad hip joints.

Cornelia soon paused for a moment at the top of a large set of stairs that led down to the lobby floor. She heard something in her mind and she froze on the spot. Not far in the shadows the cat sat and it soon channeled and made a psychics connection to Cornelia's frail mind. Back at the house Neju soon heard the cat speak.

“I don't want to do this?” Neju’s mind said to the cat.

“I found Cornelia. You just say the sayings so she will die,” It mummers into psychics mind.

“What sayings?” Neju said confused as he looked at all the cats in front of him.

Neju had been made to go up to the attic that was cluttered with antics. He could tell the cat was getting impatient. Yet a piece of paper had been dropped at his feet. He picked it up quickly while the cat was telling him to hurry up.

You don’t have a leg to stand on. Serious as a heart attack, it fell like a ton of bricks,”

Neju said. The message was transmitted into Cornelia's mind. Her consciousness didn’t argue yet she felt a horrid jolt in her frail body. She clasped her hand over her heart and started gasping.

Her bad leg gave way and she then fell forward. Her body started rolling down and over the steps that she was about to descend tumbling down to the very bottom where she laid. Neju has seen it and heard it all and he collapsed against the bookshelf dropping the note which soon was marked in blood.

“No...” Neju cried in fear.

Meanwhile Lan-kun witness Neju's first killing and smiled. Soon he used his telepathy to take the saying card with Cornelia's blood smear on it.

“Well done Mr Muse. You have committed murder without being within the area,” He said with a laugh.

Meanwhile back at the museum Michaelis had finished his phone and then went out of his office to find Cornelia. By then the black cat had vacated the scene and headed back to Neju's home.

“Mrs. Deville! Mrs. Deville!” Michaelis cried as he reached the top of the stairs and went pale.

He saw Cornelia's body lying at the bottom of the floor not moving. Michaelis soon rushed down the stairs and over to where her body lied. He checked her pulse and felt nothing. It was then the museum guard had come in from outside and saw Michaelis rushing up to him.

“Mrs. Deville is dead!!!” Michaelis said in shock.

“Dead how?” The guard asks.

“I was talking to Mr. Edowaga in the office upstairs. I didn’t see this happen!!!” He said to the guard who responded.

“I'll alert the police. Mr. Wood, the exhibition will have to be closed today until this is sorted out,” He said trying to stay calm.

From there Michaelis rushed away while the guard made the call to the police department. At the police station Michael had been sitting at his desk until the chief entered.

“Michael we just received this bizarre report from the Westminster museum. Mrs. Cornelia Deville had died and the owner wants us to come out investigate,” Dan said standing in front of his desk.

“Is it a murder?” Michael questions.

“I guess will you will find out. I suggest you go now.” Dan said. Michael stood up from his desk

“Yes sir.” He said.

The chief soon left and Michael followed. He soon joined by a small team of police who are attending to the scene with him. Meanwhile Neju was still up in the attic wanting to get out. He tired to move and make to the door hoping the cats won’t do anything to him.

“I can’t believe that I have done this. Today's victim done... Let me out please? I did what you wanted!!!” Neju panics the cats soon parted a path way and allowed him to leave the room.

Neju rushed down stairs but he couldn’t leave his house at all. Yet the front door began to open. Neju froze as the black cat had returned and then the door closed behind him. Meanwhile at the museum Michaelis had the ambulance come and eventually the police arrived at the scene with Michael present.

Michael soon entered the building and approached the fence off area where Mrs. Deville’s body remained. Michael placed his bag down beside him and studies the body. The officer soon brought Mr Wood’s over where Michael had got up and turned to face him.

“Mr. Wood, I’m detective Michael Hinslay. I have some questions for you. Did you witness Mrs Deville’s fall?” He asks the museum owner.

“No. I was in my office on the phone with Mr. Edowaga discussing a private matter,” He replied loosing his collar.

“You left Mrs. Deville alone?” Michael questions him.

“Yes, she left to go and wait in the lobby. By the time I got of the phone and to the stairs I saw her body lying there,” Michaelis said. Michael noted his witnesses’ anxious state.

“Were there anyone else in the building at the time?” He asks.

“No. Museum was still closed. I opened the doors because Cornelia requested it to be entranced. She was supposed to have this large stone on display, which I was waiting to be delivered to the museum,” Michaelis replied.

“Mr. Wood, I hope you telling me everything you know. As for now I suggest you leave with the officer to the station for more questioning,” Michael said as he had Michaelis soon taken away worried he might be a suspect in a murder.

It was from there Michael stood over the body. He felt something strange about this crime scene, he stood and he soon received an insight to what occurred. Michael had been blessed with psychic powers including Anti-Foresight.

It was quite a handy to seen what happened that lead up to the death. He watched Mrs. Cornelia at the top of the stairs. She froze clutching her heart. It was from there she fell down the stairs onto the cold stone floor. Michael soon returned from his fore-sight vision.

From there he started to go up the stairs allowing his mind and sight to pick up anything that could have been missed. The ambulance people soon came in to take the body away. Michael soon reached the top of the stairs and try and focus again.

He stood at the spot where Cornelia was believe to been standing before her fall. He then visualizes the scene again. This time he looked about the area up top behind Cornelia and couldn’t see anything there. He then tried to be in Cornelia’s shoes to sense if she had anything unusual occurred. Michael was still thinking that something had caused Cornelia to fall.

“I can only see her clutching her heart and allowing her foot to lose stance. Then she fell down the stairs and remained motionless at the bottom. I need to know about Cornelia Deville. She might have been in bad health or had a heart condition. I can’t shake the feeling she was provoked,” He thought as he went back down stairs and over to one of the officers.

“I need to research on Cornelia Deville, I wonder if she was suffering any heart conditions anything relating to her health status,” He tells the officer.

The officer soon left. Michael took another look around the area. He still couldn’t shake the feeling that something has interfered with Cornelia Deville. It was from there he left to go back to the office. Meanwhile Neju had been sitting in his chair with little to do.

He was wondering if the police had been alerted to the scene. If so would they find out if he done it. By then time had drifted slowly by, Neju was bored and trapped inside his own house. Neju soon fell asleep.

He started to dream up the past when his father was around. Yet it was that night he whisked him away to tell him that he was cursed. Neju eventually woke up to notice the darkness outside.

“I need to go to bed... I need to feed the cats... But forget it...”

Neju said looking at the cats that seem to be resting. He eventually got up and went to his bedroom closing the door. Neju collapsed on his bed.

Day 2: Target - Michaelis Wood.

After the unusual death of Cornelia Deville, the news spread like wildfire about her death. Yet Michael researched up on Cornelia's health conditions. He spent most of the night sorting through and wondering what did happen was a mere accident than a provoked situation. After being questioned, Michaelis Wood had come home late.

He got very little rest after the incident. Meanwhile Neju had awoken up to see the cats had all crept back into his bedroom again. Neju sighed to see the same cat that was on him before had returned to the spot again. Neju just stared at the cat for a while.

“I know I should hate you all... I can tell something ... I can hear it in my mind that you likely to accept me...” He sat up a bit and the others noticed. Neju lifted up the one that sat on him.

He looked at him deep into his eyes and he could hear his thoughts. It was then the hissing and loud meowing was a sign that they were mad. The one in his hands hissed and wiggled about. Neju soon let it go and it leapt off the bed and rushed out the door. The others remained yet were wrestles at the sign of favoritism.

“OK, sorry. Did you all want breakfast?” Neju groans as he climbed out of bed entered the hallway and noticed the front door had been opened then slammed shut. Neju knew what was happening. The cat was on the hunt for its next victim to kill.

Meanwhile Michael had arrived at work to an unusual surprise. Michael spotted an invitation on his desk. He reached down to pick it up when he heard his chief come in

“Michael, I was wondering if you’re free tonight?” Dan asks.

“Are you asking out?” Michael laughs for a moment and didn’t see it working on his chief. Though only he saw the funny side to it.

“No. It’s just an offering I like you to come and dine at my home and meet my family,” Dan said.

“Really? I take it this is the invitation to it?” Michael said looking at the envelope.

“Yes.” Dan replied waiting for acceptance.

Yet Tamara, Dan’s daughter has a major crush on him.

“It's not I like know what you’re trying to do, chief. Tamara set you up,” Michael said. “Yes,” Dan sighs as he knew where it was going.

“Chief, I know Tamara wants to see me. I can’t accept it. I got a load of work to do. Maybe when I feel ready, I'll accept it,” Michael said as he put the envelope down. “Hinslay, you work so much it will become the only thing you do.” Dan said trying to convince the detective.
“Romance isn’t a priority for me. Please take the invitation back and give her my apologies.” Michael shoved the envelope to the edge of the desk.

Dan took the invitation and left Michael's office. Michael sat there and noticed the newspaper with the death of Cornelia plastered on it.

“So she suffered a heart attack. Bah. So she happened to be on the edge of the stairs. Everyone can expect the accident to happen. I can’t believe it!” Michael sighed and lay back in his chair.

Meanwhile Michaelis was at his home alone, with a fire going he sat there. He had been drinking a bit and he had been feeling depressed.

“Oh what an awful night... I don’t know if I'll go to the museum today...” He groans. Neju sat at home until he heard the black cat speak to him.

“I have found Michaelis, say the sayings, and he will die.” The cat spoke.

Neju froze up as the piece of paper with the dead message appeared. Neju was cringing what he was doing, yet he had all the cats still guarding him waiting.

You wouldn't be happy is you were hung up with a new rope. A time to live and a time to die,”

From then Neju soon heard choking sounds, he could hear that Michaelis was hanging himself. The painful noises were tearing Neju up inside as this was more horrible to bear.

“No...” Neju broke down putting his head on the table with his arms over it. The card had bled and disappeared. Lan soon received the new card and placed it along side Cornelia's one and smiled.

“Neju is such a pro-psychic. I must harness his Jin-Niji powers though then I can probably do killings without him as the transfers set in place,” He said.

“Lan, you have been sitting there since yesterday. Aren’t you even going to come to bed and spend some time with me?” Verine tries to woe him again.

“My dear, I will, when I’m ready for now. I’m going to take a look at my machine.” He said as he got up from his seat.

“You look at that thing all the time” Verine sighs.

“I cant wait to get my hands on the key to start my machine,” Lan stood at the top of the stairs that lead into his underground grotto.

The room was shaped like a giant cylinder. In the center stood his Brain Absorption machine. All he needed for the Ruby of Centaura to place into it then its alive. When the victims are restrained down the ruby's laser powers is reflect straight into the victims mind and brain it can relay every ounce of power and knowledge and take into his mind.

The IQ of a mind is a source of how powerful the human mind is. Lan believes combining a strong physic with a high IQ he can defy gravity, open and closed doors, telekinesis and psychokinesis.

The power is endless as long as u think of what you wanted to do it can be possible. Lan's theory and revolution only survive one purpose. Total control to himself.

“My dear, if you practice my theory you could do anything. Don’t you know part of this is yours?” Lan said holding her in his arms.

“Do you love me, Lan?” Verine ask yet Lan gave her a kiss.
“I do.” He said pulling away.

Meanwhile Michael was about to leave for his lunch break until he received a call from someone.

“Detective Hinslay speaking?” Michael answered. On the other end an upset woman spoke.

“Detective Hinslay, this is Michaelis' sister Renae. I was going to visit Michaelis. I came, and I found him hanging from the door dead!” She said.

The woman sounded very distraught. She was crying throughout as she tried to get the words out. Michael sat for a moment in silence.

“Michaelis Wood?” He questions the woman.

“Yes. I need you to come over!!!” Renae said.

“OK, I’ll come around now.” Michael said as grabbed a pen and paper.

“He was very upset about the questioning over Cornelia's death... I didn’t expect him to die!” Renae said crying into the receiver.

“Calm down... I'll come right over and I will survey the scene, OK?” Michael replied “Thank you...” She said and then ended the call.

Michael soon put the phone down and grabbed his bag and hat. He eyed the newspaper for a moment and wondered. He then left, yet he soon ran into Tamara outside the station.

“Michael, I’m so glad you’re coming tonight,” She said as stood in his way.

“I can’t talk now I got a situation to attend to. I know I told your dad I'll come. I’m sorry I can’t,” He said brushing her aside. Tamara turned around.

“Why? You keep rejecting my invitation,” She pleas to him as Michael stopped at the bottom of the stairs.

“Tamara, you’re wonderful, but you deserve a man better than me.” He said and continued on walking.

Tamara was a beautiful woman that Michael tended to wish he had. The idea of loving the chief of police's daughter seems like marrying his work. Michael just continued getting into the carriage and was taken away.

The cat soon returned to Neju's house, by then Neju had locked himself in his room. The smell of death just floated about him.

“Idle mind is the Devil's playground. I have become so heartless,” Neju said curled up on his bed.

Meanwhile Michael had arrived at Michaelis house and survey the scene, Michaelis' body hanged lifeless from a door hook. His noose was a belt that dug into his skin letting it shed blood onto the floor. Michael had watched Michaelis' death scene and basically seen nothing unusual at all.

All he saw was Michaelis was drunk he staggered out of the lounge into his bedroom. From there a belt had already been hanging on the back of the door. He made a loop in it and stuck his head in and pulled.

Michael could tell the death was a lot harder and self inflicted. Michael had some other police officers come and take care of Renee and the body.

“It seems he's being in intoxicated by alcohol, he must have bashed his head a couple of times trying to hang himself. The day after the death of Cornelia Deville. Michaelis kills himself why? Did he just fear he will be blamed for Cornelia's death or is it something deeper?” He said as soon left the scene and headed off.

Bad enough that another dead had to occur he had to go and solve. There was no way he was considering a happy dinner at Chief of Police home.

-----------------------------

Day 3: Target - Dice Blackhand

Another day had passed and one more victim had been struck off the list. By then detective Hinslay was starting to want connections to the deaths. He spent another night sorting through his thoughts trying to make any connections between the deaths of Cornelia and Michaelis.

Then again neither of their minds could show any doubts for committing suicide. Michael woke up out of his deep meditation to hear the phone rang. Michael notices a cigar he had lit last night sitting in his ash tray. He sat up on his bed and grabbed the cigar and went to answer the phone.

“Hello.” Michael answered it was then he heard Grand master’s voice on the other end.

“It’s me,” Einzel said feeling no need for introductions.

“Grand master,” Michael replied then Einzel spoke.

“Michael, I need you to come in to the compound its time we start looking at this case more deeper. I know you have been exhausted. Do you mind if you spare your energy for now,” He said.

Michael listens intently then responded. “OK, Grand master.”

Einzel continued. “Hinslay, you’re the strongest man I have in the society circle. I’m willing to find every avenue you might now able to access through your anti foresight. Come now ill be waiting for you,” It was then the line went dead.

Michael put the phone down and blows the remaining smoke out of his mouth.

“Finally I might be able to peel back layers and see what I’m missing,” He said as he went to his wardrobe and pulled out a long black cloak with the Eradicators symbol embroider on. He then placed into his bag and left the room.

Meanwhile Neju was trying to keep himself together; he already had killed two people with in the last two days. Neju was trying to shake the images out of his head, but his mind had been cluttered with various voices.

A lot of them from the cats that still guard him inside his house. Neju hasn’t been able to sleep that night, sleeping become harder for him and he tries to find seclusion and peace inside of himself.

“I can’t believe what I’m turning into... I must fight it off somehow. I must try and eat something...” He said in a depressed voice.

Neju was in the verge of breaking down. He couldn’t go anywhere for help and he couldn’t stray out of the threatening that he has been being the anonymous evil. He ventures to the kitchen and looked through the cupboards.

It was then the cats had crept into the kitchen meowing. Neju could hear their voices saying they want food. Neju turned to them.

“I don’t exactly have a lot here for you...so please why don’t you leave me alone!”
Neju's cries weren’t enough to stop them meowing. Neju soon fled the kitchen and ran into his bathroom and closed the door and locked it from his side. He then backed away, hearing the constant meowing and scratching at the door.

Eventually it all soon went quiet, Neju knew that one cat had left the house they go quiet again. They probably all waiting outside the door. Neju turned to see his porcelain bathtub, it seems like a good idea to take a long bath and try and stay calm. So far no one had come to neither find him nor contact him at all.

Neju began to drew the bath and watched the hot water pour out into the tub. Meanwhile on the other side of town down in the underground the mobsters and dealers do their business.

All the thieves of London congregate away from the public eye. Amongst then Dice Blackhand and his men were discussing their latest heist. Dice Blackhand was very tall, strong built man with cold red bloodshot eyes. He walked with a bit of a limp as he went down the dark tunnel. His white hair stood out like a ghost in the night against his black clothing.

“I swear if that Lan asks me to do him a favor without him paying to me... ARGH, I don’t do business without the client who doesn’t pay. I don’t care if he threatens me anymore! I have people too. I can take care of him myself!” He grunted.

Behind them in the darkness a pair of yellow eyes shone, as the cat followed and watched. Dice soon entered a room off the tunnel and sat down. He grabbed a cigar from his pocket and a match to light it. It was then he paused in his chair and stared.

The cat stood in the doorway. Neju was lying in his bathtub and woke up to hear the voice of the cat. He heard the noises pass into his mind and opened his eyes.

“I found Dice. Say the sayings and he shall die,” The cat said. Neju gets frustrated psychic with the cat and response.

“I know I’m waiting for the card,” He said.

“Look beside you.” The cat instructed. Neju notice the card on the stool next to the bathtub. He reached over to it and turned it over to the written side.

Time to bite the bullet, blood will tell, better death than dishonor, dead men tells no tales,”

He recited and can easily tell what’s going to happen next. Dice sat there still yet he reached for a pistol he had on the table and put it to his head.

Neju then heard the loud bang blast through his mind. He jumped up in the tub and clasped his head. He saw Dice's dead body slid out of the chair onto the wooden floor.

“I can’t do this... Ugh!” Neju said dropping the bleeding card which soon disappeared. Meanwhile Michael had arrived at the compound and was escorted into the building.

Dawn his black cloak he went pass other pupils and members of the society. They all had various physic abilities like telepathy, psychokinesis, clairvoyance, etc. Michael passed all of them and soon turned off down a hallway and then into a room. The door was closed and he soon saw Einzel sitting at his desk waiting for Michael.

“Grand Master, I got here as fast as I can...” He said as he entered Einzels’ office.

“Please sit down. Because there seem to be another attack...” Ge prompted his pupil to take a seat.

“When?” Michael asks.
“Not too long ago,” Einzel answered.

Though Michael powers have there limitations he responded.

“I only use my foresight when I’m actually in the crime area. I never use it outside,” He said. Einzel nodded.

“I know. But now we were in need of your information on the past two deaths. Somehow you have a hunch they are all connected,” He said.
“Yes. I can only go from what I seen, they all looked like accidents or suicide. But these people aren’t even considering taking their own lives. It’s got to be something else,” Michael ponders.

“Psychopathic murder. It’s new and yet dangerous way of controlling minds and casting upon their own deaths. Using your mind and having a transmitting psychic marker within the vicinity of the victim. They can relay instructions in code. The brain locks up and listens and the victim follow through until they are dead,” Einzel recited.

“That’s what is going on?” Michael said now thinking clear on the situation.

“Yes.” Einzel said as he stood up from his chair and walked around. Michael turned around and watched him continue explaining.

“These day’s psychics believing their minds can be pushed to a degree in which they can do anything without touching. A lot of use here doesn’t want to fall into that trap. We did have one person who we no longer associate with. You all know about the feud. The Muses were Asian immigrants and they somewhat clashed with the Kuns. The Kuns wanted supreme power and came up with the theory that a mind can do a lot of things and make it less work for the human. That fact is horribly wrong. It consumed them and yet they cast a curse upon the Muses. Kuns made a deadly machine that could drain person mind and transfer it into their own. No one believes in this crap... yet one of the Kuns still lives. He hasn’t let up. Only Neju Muse is left, we were lucky to kill his father but now we must kill him,” He said firmly.

Michael stood up from his chair.

“You think Neju is capable of this!” Michael protested at the idea of innocent man who wouldn’t hurt anyone.
Einzel turned to face Michael. “He could be part of it. It was his father deciphered a code using old sayings and superstitious beliefs to scare people,” He said. The Michael had to ask.

“Who is the last family descendant of the Kuns?” Einzel paused for a moment.

“Lan. I haven’t seen that man at all for years. I only saw that man when he was a child,” He said then looked out the window.

“It makes sense now. If Lan is still around he be most likely targeting and using Neju to do these killings I don’t know why exactly!” Michael said looking out the window.

“I’m glad you have a clear path to follow upon,” Einzel said with a smile.

“We need to sort out why these people are being attacked. What is Lan's purpose?” Michael said in a concerned voice.

“I’m sure, if there is more deaths to come it will lead you to your answers,” Einzel said stroking his chin. Michael soon taking his leave.

“Thank you Grand Master,” He said.

Einzel signaled with this hand for Michael to leave.

“Now go. I’m sure if you can find Neju.” He said.
“Neju... I don’t think interfering now will help,” Michael said as he stopped walking. “Why not?” Einzel asks looking in his direction.

“What if Lan knows about us?” Michae l questions the grand master.

“I doubt it.” Einzel said shaking his head.

“Never doubt nor assume. Grand Master...” Michael added to give Grand Master some confidence.

“Thank you,” Einzel said with a smile.

Michael soon turned and left the room. He had now a solid idea on the whole operation except for the links between the victims and Lan. Meanwhile Neju had got out of the tub and dried himself off with a warm dry towel.

It was then he noticed the doorknob turning about trying to open. Neju realize that the cats were trying to open the door, yet Neju locked it from his side. He grabbed his clothes and started dressing himself again.

“I’m not going to have much food to live off. The cats are drinking all of the milk.. I miss the outside world. I don’t know what’s real and what exaggerations of my imagination. Face it, Neju, you're now talking out loud to yourself and can no longer use your subconscious anymore,” He said to himself.

Neju fixed up his tie and then unlocked the door no doubt the cats were waiting. The blue-eyed leader had come back and amongst the crowd. Neju sighed he knew it was far from over. But will anyone come and save him.

Neju was starting to doubt that people have forgotten him completely he cant call anyone just in case the cats do something to him as he walked passed the cats, he notices the blue eye one follow him to his bedroom.

He climbed into his bed again and lay there. The black cat jumped up and looked at him, Neju petted the black cat and heard it purring and rubbing against his hands. He soon realized that this cat seems to like him a lot.

Ever since day one, this cat has been close to him watching him. Neju sees that now. Neju smiled briefly and soon closed his eyes and went to sleep.

-----------------------------

Day 4: Target - Mordecia Edowaga

As dawn slowly crept in, by now things were staring to get serious. Michael now had a idea of what is going on, but is missing out on vital reasons as to why the following people had been targeted and what is Lan wanting from them. This was now stirring Lan up as he has to find where the Ruby of Centura is before Hinslay does.

“Damn it! It won’t take much longer for detective Hinslay to crack the case. I better bring the black cats out to take Neju!” Lan said in frustration as he stood up from his chair. He turned as he noticed Verine entered the room.

“Lan, I swear ever since you and I have been together you have just been focused on only one thing!” She said in an angry voice.

“Verine, dear,” Lan got out before Verine cut in.

“I had enough Lan, What you’re doing here is stupid! You and I aren’t even in love. I don’t feel wanted anymore,” She cried yet Lan could tell.

“I see your dilemma. I can hear your thoughts,” He said stroking his chin.
“Goddamn it, Lan. I just have been a pawn for your game,” Verine said in disgusts.

Lan-kun wasn’t going to admit straight out his avoidance and using of Verine in his scheme. Yet he had a suggestive plan and idea to keep Verine happy and out of the way for a while.

“My dear, I’m willing to give you what you want,” He said trying to win her back. “Really?” Verine said it was then Lan used his mind powers and tangle an invisible pull around Verine and pulled her straight over to him.

“What are you doing?” Verine questions Lan.

“My dear, I seek to be able to everything without use of touch, the mind has the powers you just need the concentration and physic to do it with. I plan to break the rules of gravity I’m close to exceeding the impossible,” He said.

Verine was hovering in the air by Lans’ psychic powers “Put me down!” She squeals yet Lan ignores her.

“Don’t worry, how many normal people can fly? None,” He laughs, yet Verine didn’t like it.

“I want you to love me! I’m no good to you.” She pleas to him.
“I will... First of all I’ll put you down.” Lan said as he released his bind on Verine and placed her back on the ground again.

He then physically held her and kissed her. Verine could tell Lan was saving himself for the right moment. Yet she was far from it and he soon broke away.

“Now I want you to go to the bedroom and wait there for me,” He orders his mistress

“But why won’t you come?” She said waiting for him.

“I will.” Lan said waving his hand for Verine to leave.

“You better!! I can tell after that kiss you desire me so badly,” She spat.

“Go now.” Lan said to her soon Verine left Lan's arms and started backing away out the door and then turned.

She wasn't sure if Lan was being forward about himself. Though it has been very rarely he touched her with his hands. Yet his hands felt so cold, he was cold.

She wasn't going to dwell on it as she climbed into bed and waited. In the other room Lan sat down reached for a red headed doll and smiled. It was then Lan allowed himself into Verine's mind to hear her thoughts. Lan started stroking the doll's body.

Meanwhile Verine was sitting up in bed feeling touches on her, yet she didn’t know what was going on. Lan continued, he soon undressed the doll and continued running his fingers over its white porcelain body.

Verine was eventually naked in bed feeling his various touches all over her. He also began licking and kissing the doll.

“These touches, it’s like a ghost... Ahh, please, more.” She thought to herself then heard

“More you shall have, my dear,” Lan said though he was getting tired of her, yet he decided to listen to her moaning and crying as she basked in the strange sexual pleasure.

Yet his eyes soon perked up to see Mordecai getting ready to leave his house to go to the bank. It was from there Lan used his powers and physic bounded Verine stiff on the bed.

The sheets wound around her tightly keeping her flat on the bed. Verine stopped moaning and tried to move but can’t then see saw Lan standing there.

“Sorry, my dear. I got an important matter to attend to. I want you to stay right there, OK?” He said watching her struggle in the bed sheets.

“NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!” She cried as Lan rushed away leaving his lover’s painful cries of anguish echoed about the house.

Neju had been mopping about the house while the cats hang around him. He couldn’t bare it anymore. The complaining, the black fur coats, the evil yellow eyes. Neju was starting to feel depressed, yet he knows that one cat is going to leave and hunt out the fourth victim.

“I miss treating people. Why must my family be cursed with this horrid power? Why? Then again for a psychologist to go insane. What does that make me?” He thought as he wandered into the lounge then spotted the liquor cabinet.

Neju wasn't much of a drinker, he had occasional one but he is going to drown himself in it to escape reality. He reached for the glass and the bottle of Gin and started pouring. He heard the door open and close and assumes the cat had left. There was very little he can do about it. He soon collapsed in his chair wishing it were all just a bad dream.

Meanwhile Mordecai was walking along the path passing everyone who was outside for the day. Mordecai seemed a little scared inside, so far two people he knew was killed off and he already fears the wrath upon him.

The idea of whatever killed them will come and get him next. Mordecia tried to not let it rise up and completely show on his face or the way he was walking.

“So I don’t feel safe out here... What if that thing is watching me right now? I better take a short cut to work. Then at least I can feel much safer inside,” He thought as he walked along.

He avoided saying hello, he just gave a brief wave and turned off into an alley way. Mordecia paced along the stone pathway unaware he was being followed. Mordecia heard footsteps behind him and looked back briefly.

He couldn’t see anything yet his ears were hearing footsteps. Mordecia soon ran yet he saw that the ally was a dead end. A high brick wall blocked his way out. It was then Mordecia turned to see a shadowy figure standing in front of him with a panther attached to a leash.

“Hello, Mr. Edowaga. Nice day for a walk. The shadows are about to leave the light,” Lan said smirking.

“Mr. Kun...” Mordecia stuttered in fear.

“Call me Lan. I need you do to something for me.” He said noticing Mordecia eyes looked at the panther by Lan's side. Its yellow eyes gaze deadly back at Mordecia.

“I need you to take me to where you’re keeping the Ruby of Centaura now!” Lan demanded. Mordecia looked fearfully at the man.

“I... I... have it in the vault at my bank. I'll take you there...” He said in a shaky voice.

Meanwhile Neju's slumped in his chair tipsy, he drank most the contents of the Gin bottle and wasn’t aware of the changes going on around him. He waited and heard nothing from the escaped cat. This surprised Neju but when he tried to stand up he notices someone.

“What... Huh... Who are you?” He questions as he was staring into the face of a woman. She had blue eyes and long black hair. What startled Neju was she had cat ears and a black tail.

Neju listen to her purring and soft meows, which was making him, fall into a calmer state. He was confused whether he was seeing an illusion or real thing. He reached up and held her; she came closer to his face and started licking his ear and neck.

“Whoever you are, you look so much like that cat I had. Mmm,” He was enjoying this moment of sweetness. He eventually realize that the cat, was the cat that seem to fancy him so. Neju wanted so much more. He was completely lost, outside the front door Michael Hinslay had appeared at Neju's door. He knocks a couple of times.

“Mr. Muse, Are you home?” Michael waited yet no response. Yet he could hear growling from the other side of the door.

“I better go in. Something could have happened to Neju and he can’t answer the door. Curiosity killed the cat,” He said then he started ramming the door trying to budge it.

He then decided to step back and throw a kick at the door. Michael sighed and made sure no one was watching him. He focused on the doorknob and tried hard using his psychic powers to open the door.

He concentrated hard; Neju's mind heard his voice, which soon woke him from his dream to stare towards the front door. Neju gasped at the sight of all the big growling panthers in his house.

Even the one that he was kissing was a panther. Neju was terrified as the panther wanted to pull him away; it clawed at him as he climbed onto the top of the chair. It was then the front door burst open and Michael rushed in to stop dead.

Neju's eyes turned to the stranger.

“Help!” He cried as he struggles to avoid the panther.

“Appearances are deceiving.” Michael said as he notices the panthers about the house.

“Who are you?” Neju cried out as he dodges the panther’s paw.

“Detective Michael Hinslay of the Police,” He replied as he was being eyed off by five panthers.

In the lounge Neju had been shoved off his chair as it came crash down on top of his body. Neju's glasses had fallen off and landed out of his reach as he was being crushed down by the enormous cat on the chair.

Something inside Neju snapped, he was scared yet he can hear inside subconscious. It was then from his hands which started to glow Neju could feel fire and strength shooting through him.

While the chair and the cat above him was crushing him down. Neju wriggled one free hand out and then Michael watched a huge flame shot out from the lounge. The chair and the cat being literally throw out the front window crashing into the street outside.

From there Neju got onto his feet and looked outside it was then he noticed the cats turning and heading his way. Michael soon tried to make a break for it as some of the house was smoldered in flames from Neju's surprise psycho attack.

Michael called out, “Neju, get out of there!” Neju stood there for a split second then ran the wall near him and completely raced up it onto the ceiling. Neju looked down to see the cats trying to reach. Neju couldn’t believe what he was doing and started to quickly make his way out of the lounge.

By then Michael had ran back outside as the house started burn. Neju choked on the smoke and eventually jumped down and raced out the door to Michael. From there Michael and Neju escaped the house, yet they were soon followed out into the street by the giant panthers.

People started screaming and running inside as the cats started storming down the street. Neju and Michael raced along as they were trying a way to escape the cats behind them.

“Detective, where are we going?” Neju questions as they ran along.

“We need to get off the streets!” Michael replied as he looks around for a way.

“How?” Neju asks then Michael spotted a wall that lead up onto the roof tops.

“We just go up,” He said.

From there Michael leaps onto a bin and started concentrating as his new powers kicked in. Eventually racing up the wall to the roof. Neju struggled behind but he couldn't believe he was running up a building with no aid. The cats couldn’t reach them now as they stood on top looking below.

“I can’t believe you can do that, can you?” Neju said in a surprised voice.

“No time to question. Just be glad we are out of their reach,” Michael said as they continued running along. “I didn’t know it was possible,” Michael said with a smile.

“That we just defy gravity,” Neju replied trying to keep up with the detective.

“Yeah it’s like our minds have been free from its limits and boundaries,” He said as the pair leap onto the next roof.

“I guess having strong mind physic it allows you to do anything,” Neju said overwhelmed at the feeling of being free.

“Come on, we have to get going.” Michael protested to Neju yet, Neju paused as he had a foresight vision.

He stared off into the distance which soon rushed right through him as his mind flew until it landed at the Westminster bank. Michael noticed Neju was not moving. Neju soon snapped out and turned to Michael.

“I know where Lan is,” He said.

“Where?” Michael asks.

“Westminster bank.” Neju said with a smile.

“You have tapped another power,” Michael said a little amazed by everything that is happening.

“I can’t explain, its such a rush for me,” Neju said trying to catch his breath.
“How are we going to get there?” Michael asks Neju looked ahead over the various roof tops.

He felt compelled to do the impossible. He then backed up past Michael focusing ahead.

“Neju what you doing?” Michael said as he was watching the psychologist.

“Just watch,” He said then he started running past Michael and kept eyes focus ahead.

Neju soon leap off the edge. Michael gasped as he watched Neju saw across the gap and landed over the other side. Neju looked over his shoulder surprised, he felt invincible. Below people were in awe as they just saw a man flew above the street.

“Come on, Detective, focus and you will make it,” Neju’s mind said to into Michael’s.

“I will, Neju.” Michael responded back to Neju.

Below in one of the carriages Tamara was inside and stared out the window. She saw the wild cats rushing about attacking people. It was then her eyes wondered above. It was then she saw Michael jumping off a building.

”Oh my god! Michael!” Tamara squealed looking at the pair on the roof. Inside the bank people were running about.

Lan entered the building with his panther and was coaxing Mr. Edowaga to the vault. The bank staff fled while the police were soon alerted and arrived at the scene. No one knew how he or she was going to stop a man with a large wild cat on a leash. Mr Edowaga head towards the back of the bank foyer as people rushed outside.

“I hope you have the stone, Mr. Edowaga.” Lan asks the bank owner.

“I always keep it in the vault until it’s needed to be taken to the museum,” Mordecai said as he fiddles through his pockets.

“Can you please hurry up!” Lan bellows.

Mordecia went over to the vault and started turning the lock on the front. Lan was getting impatient yet Mr. Edowaga soon opened the vault and entered. Outside the police had come and were waiting to enter the building. Chief Dan was with them. Neju and Michael soon reached the street where the bank was and looked down.

“This is insane!” Neju said looking down.

“I think what we just did was insane!” Michael replied to the red-head.

“Detective, we must stop Lan from getting that stone!!! That stone is highly powerful. We have to jump!” Neju said as he looked at the scared detective.

“It’s too far!” Michael barks at Neju trying to talk since into him.

“Compared to what we have just done, I am jumping down. You are coming too, now trust me!” Neju said as he soon leaps off the building and was going down fast.

Neju had timed his jump as below the carriage that Tamara had raced beneath. Michael didn’t have a choice but to go then. Tamara's carriage had just stopped when Neju came crashing through the roofs and landing on the seat inside. Soon Michael landed inside too.

“Michael!” Tamara squeal at the invasion.

“Hi?” Michael said shaking the wood out of his hair.

“Thank you for stopping here. We need to go,” Neju said as he opened the door.

“Wait!” Tamara cried as Michael and Neju jumped out of the carriage and rushed through to the steps of the bank.

Chief was there and stopped Michael and Neju from entering.

“Michael, you can’t go in there!” Dan protested trying to stop him.

“Chief, let me and Neju in. We will deal with it. You deal with those cats out there!”

Michael said as he and Neju went into the building. Meanwhile, Lan had his cat kill Mordecai in the vault. His blood flowed out about his the body as Lan had the Ruby in his hands.

Blood is thicker than water; eat your heart out, here today gone tomorrow,” Lan soon turned and headed out of the vault and soon paused in the lobby area Neju stood waiting. Neju no longer had his glasses on. Yet Lan could feel a astronomical difference in Neju. Hinslay was right behind him.

“Well, well, Mr. Muse and Mr. Hinslay. I can’t stay I must be going but I'll let my cats feast on your carcasses,” Lan said to the pair. The panthers started coming out from a side entrance and stood at Lan's side.

“Your cats don’t scare me Lan, You’re just using them as a fear tactic.” Neju said trying not to look scared.
“The road to Hell is paved with good intentions. I tend you walk your self into the mouth and burn,” Lan smirks evilly.

“You're just full of odd sayings, Lan,” Neju said coldly.
“I’ll be leaving now.” Lan soon risen off the ground and hovered.

It was then Tamara had broken in passed her father’s barricades and Michael turned to see her.

“Michael!” Tamara cried it was then the cats pounced.

Tamara screamed. Neju turned and used his telekinesis and started fling the cats into the bank walls. The cats came crashing through the teller booths and into the back offices. Michael had grabbed Tamara and floated off the ground.

Now they were all off the floor and Lan tried to escape but Neju soon used his powers and sent a striking physic blow to Lan. Lan soon deflected that.

“Michael, what is going on?” Tamara said looking at him.

“I’ll explain later I want you out of here,” Michael eventually put Tamara down on the ground.

Meanwhile, Neju was tired again but was canceled out by Lan's attack, which soon grabbed Neju and slung him into the roof. Michael soon got up there and helped Neju.

“Are you going to join us, Mr. Hinslay?” Lan said from above them. Michael rushed over to Neju’s side.

“Neju, are you OK?” He asks as Neju got up.

“I’m fine,” He said as he rubs his back with his left hand.
“I’m just not enjoying this day Michael,” Lan mentally grabs Neju by the neck and pulls him towards him.

“No, let him go!” Michael cried as Lan-kun smiles deviously at him.

“Hinslay, you try so hard to be the hero and you fail to notice you’ve already lost,” He said as Michael looks at Lan confused and startle.

Lan use his telekinesis to throw Neju into Michael, they land outside the bank door. Michael is first to his feet while Neju is rubbing his eyes trying to focus his sight.

“Allow me to show you the destructive power of the Ruby of Centara, Hinslay,” Lan fires an energy blast at Michael, Tamara steps in front of the beam.

“NO!” he cried Tamara falls backwards into Michael arms; he catches her and cradles her body. He stares at her shocked and angry.
“No, please not her,” Michael cried out in sadness as Tamara said.

“I love you Michael, always remember that,” Her head goes limp in his arms; she closes her eyes and turns her head to the side. Lan-kun smiles, pleased by Michael's suffering with the stone glowing
“The ironic thing is, Hinslay, was that I wasn’t aiming at you, this is the price of being a hero. Someone always get hurt,” Lan said.

Neju walks besides him, looking angrily at Tamara in Michael’s arms. Lan begins to laugh. Suddenly a psychic attack hits him in the face knocking him to the ground. He looks up and sees Einzel just behind Michael.

“You will not see the end of this day,” Einzel said as Lan gets to his feet.

“At last the entire piece is here together.” Lan holds up the gems, a light shines on Lan forcing Michael and Neju to cover their eyes.

Verine wakes up and Lan is looking down grinning manically at her.

“Lan, my love, you come back to me,” Verine said a little dazed out.

“Yes and no my dear,” he replied Verine looks around and sees Neju, Einzel and Michael strapped into Lan’s machine unconscious, she looks around and sees she is bound as well.

“What is the meaning of this, Lan?” Verine protested as she wriggles about in the restraints. Lan leaned over her body.

“Quite simply my darling, you were always part of my plans; your power will serve me well when I take over,” He said smirking.

“What about our love, darling?” She asked as Lan kisses her on top of the forehead and smiles.
“My dear I will miss you more than you know,” Lan points to his forehead. “But I will always keep you close to me.” He added.

Verine was even more angry as she tries to break free.

“You treacherous snake! When I get out of here I’ll definitely kill you!” She yelled at him. Einzel calmly looks around to Michael and Neju.

“Michael and Neju, I have a plan, but you’ll have listen to me carefully. When I give the signal, focus your power on the stone,” He psychically channels the pair. Neju glances over to Einzel, concerned and nervous.

“Have you gone mad, that stone is supposed to drain us of our powers,” He channels between the three of them.

“Trust him Neju, it’s the only plan we have at the moment.” Michael responded to Neju’s mind.

“Okay, I don’t really have a choice then,” He said back as Lan activates the machine. “Now!” Einzel said as he, Neju and Michael channeled their power into the ruby all at once, the ruby begins to shake.

Lan glances over at the ruby.

“Huh?” Lan said as the laser beam shoots directly from the crystal into Lan causing him to screams in agony.

“Ughhhhh!!!! AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!” He went as it was frying his mind and destroying his psychic ability.

“How much longer, master?” Michael thought as the ruby begins to crack.

Michael, Einzel and Neju were grimacing trying to control their powers.

“Almost finished, Michael.” Einzel thought as Verine screaming.

“Lan!” as he was being burned by the stones strong powers.

Soon the ruby shatters, Lan falls down to his knees the face first to the floor. Verine uses her power to free herself. She walks over to Lan and stares smirking of his body. She kneels over to feel his pulse.

“So you’re dead, my beloved?” Then Verine begins to kick Lan body.

“All I wanted from you was pleasure and all you gave me was contempt,” She said angrily until Michael grabs her shoulder.

“Mrs. Kun, you’re under arrest,” Michael said as Verine screams at him.

“On what grounds Hinslay?” She questions the detective who was staring furiously at her, screaming at the top of her lungs.

“Your husband was a murderer, Mrs. Kun, you also had knowledge of his actions and didn’t report them to the police when you had the chance,” He said as he hauls Verine along.

“You can’t prove that, Hinslay,” She protested.

“Of course I can, Mrs. Kun, I have witnesses identifying you at the scene of the murders along with your husband,” He said yet she wasn’t going to give up.

“You would lie just to arrest me,” She said smugly yet Michael had enough.

“I do more if I could, for now you will suffer for your husband’s crimes,” He said then Verine slaps his hand off her shoulder and takes off running up the stairs of the underground lair.

As she reach the top of the stairs and opens the door two men appear before her the grab her shoulders.

“Unhand me, you brutes!” She screamed as they pulling her up the stairs.

“Your powers won’t work on them. Gentlemen, if you could take Mrs. Kun to see the chief of police, tell him that Detective Hinslay had arrested her on charges of conspiracy to commit murder as well as being an accomplice,” Michael said as he went over and helped Neju and Einzel out of the restraints.

“This deceit will not stand, Hinslay,” She vowed to him as the men pulled her through the door way.

“You’ll pay for this!” She yelled as her noise soon faded away as Michael holds his head down.

“I already have.” He said.

Day 5: The end of Jin-Niji

Neju entered the ceremonial chamber of the Eradicators, in front of him is a chapel like setting with isle seats and a podium where Einzel and Michael stood. Neju looks up at them.

“Neju, come forth to me.” Einzel announced as Neju begins to walks.

He can’t help but think of the people he had killed, Lan Kun is dead but his curse lives with in him. Suddenly he looks up and sees the black cats from the other day. She smiles softly at him.

“It is rare for a being of evil to perform an act of mercy,” She said as he stops for a second. Einzel and Michael look on, startled for a second.

“Is everything all right, Neju?” Michael asks as Neju paused for a second.

“I can perform my duty one last time for you,” The cat said. Neju looked at Michael.

“I’m fine.” He said as he smiles at the pair.

“For the first time in a long time, I’m fine.” He thought as he heard the cat say, “Say the words and you will die,” Neju knew what he had to do, free him from being evil and die.

“Thank you.” He thought as he continues walking.

A coward dies a thousand deaths, a brave man dies but once,”

Then Neju fallen face first to the ground in the isle. Einzel and the others stood in shock; Michael runs up to Neju and checked his pulse on his neck.

“He’s dead?”

Michael turns over Neju body, his eyes still open. Michael rubs downward palm over Neju’s face closing his eyes.

The End.
