I darted through the forest, my legs barely able to carry me, I was only a werewolf 'cub', a clanless, orphaned werewolf cub. In yet the humans were hunting me like I was some sort of monster, it wasn't my fault I had been born this way, that I was stuck in a wolf form now, no longer able to turn human after the full moon because I had turned 15. I hid behind a tree, wimpering quietly so that the humans could not hear me, I sat there until I heard the men leave, and hoped above all else that they would not return. I licked my wound clean, and wimpered as I limped twoards a cave just a bit away from me. I had only been bitten a year ago, and it had been the worst thing that had ever happened to me. Being an orphan was bad enough, but being a hunted werewolf was even worse. "Hey you runt, what are you doing in my territory!" I heard someone growl..

"I-I'm sorry, I was just looking for a place to rest..." I muttered walking outside.

"Oh, Argus he's just a pup..." he heard a female voice say, a she-wolf came into view "Looks like it's first full transformation too.."

I nodded my head, still licking my wound, another werewolf much older then me walked forward. "What's your name kid?" the wolf I guessed was Argus asked.

"Don't have one, I'm an orphan, always have been.." I told him "I simply am referred to as Bane.."

"Well then Bane, don't you have a clan?" Argus asked.

"If I did I would have a family..." I replied firmly "I'm a lone wolf.."

"You shouldn't worry too much about it, I was a lone wolf myself..." Argus told me "By now you've guessed I'm Argus, and this is my wife Melinda..."

"Well, I'll get out of you're guys way..." I told them, walking to the mouth of the cave "It was nice meeting you..."

"Hey, hold on, didn't say you had to leave..." Argus pointed to the wound on my leg "At least stay here to rest your leg..." he smiled.

"Thank you for your kindness.." I replied, laying down, I snored slightly.

And then I woke up again, still in the orphanage after another strange dream, I was one of the three children left there, it was summer, no school, just stuck in this small orphanage. Unwanted, I had never been picked by anyone, I had always been overlooked for being strange looking or different. And that is why it came as a surprise to me the day before when I had been told a couple was coming to us, and that been chosen by this couple to be adopted. I would never have to sleep on an uncomfortable cot again, today I would be leaving with them. I took my small, dirty backpack and put the only thing I had left from my parents around my neck, a locket. My heart leaped as I saw the couples car outside, they had given me a name, I would no longer just be Bane, my new name was Alex Winters. It had said so on the adoption papers I had been shown the day before, it felt great to know that they had already set up a room for a boy of their own, as it was an all boy's orphanage. I quickly ran down the stairs, where my new parents were waiting. My new mother had brown hair and blue eyes and my new father had strange silver hair and green eyes. I smiled at them as my new father offered to take my backpack, which I gratefully excepted, I bid farewell to the other two children, and we walked twoards their cadilac. My thoughts trailing to the day before when I had been adopted.
