You are nothing.

I am something.

You are nothing nothing nothing

A soulless shadow of what once was

A ghost of people unforgiving

You are nothing.

You are a book already read

A familiar path already tread

A torn and old and saggy bed

You are nothing.

You are a cracked and figured code

A shard of glass upon the road

An already dissected toad

You are nothing.

But I, I am something!

While you are naught but stone,

I have feelings, I have life!

I am the sun upon its rising

From the ocean in the east.

I am the prize-winning dish

At the holiday feast.

While you are bland and stale

I am refreshing as a drink.

And while you are deathly pale,

I am the colors of the world.

But I am also pain and depression

Rage, strife and obsession.

And happiness

And loneliness

And ecstasy

And fantasy

Laughter, love and bliss

A perfect life gone off amiss

Whilst you are nothing.

A drop of rain on tearstained face,

A speck of dust caught in the wind,

Blowing from place to place,

A bit of ash from melted fire,

A double crossing, two faced liar.

Or a long-forgotten memory,

Vestige of a life that was once me.

Nothing- but an unheard echo…

You are nothing

You are nothing

You are nothing.
