She’s quite a silly girl,
who wishes to hold on to the past.
She looks upon her ex with lust and longing,
And she cries, feeling lonely and abandoned.
(And in time, what has she gained?)
Heartache, pain and backstabbing.
Betrayal, darkness, vulnerability and insecurity.
Why?
Because she dared to love.
(People watch diligently as she falls apart.)
She can’t help herself,
Everything she ever adored has been
Ripped, tattered and destroyed.
She wishes, oh she wishes, it wasn’t so.
(But then, reality knocks her down)
Who is she to change the present?
Who is she to dwell on the past?
And most importantly,
Who is she to deny her own future.
(Eternal silence fell upon her.)
