Chapter Eighteen-
Payton grabbed her bags and quickly pushed them into her truck. Now decked out in her favorite jeans, with a few holes, and a long sleeve shirt, she made tied down her things and took one last look at the Mansion before her. Saluting to it, she jumped in her truck and down the road she went. Neptune lay on the passenger seat, staring up at her accusingly.
"What?" He continued. "I left a goodbye note on the kitchen counter so shh." She growled. Taking a right at the exit, she made her way down the back roads.
Parking her truck, she looked at the house before her. It was surrounded by trees and hidden within the woods, but not too far off. Her parent's old home. "Come on, Neptune." She whispered, taking a few bags into her hand and taking them inside. Setting the box down in the hallway, she looked down at her shadow. "This is our new home." And one lonely tear fell down her face. "We don't want to burden the others."
Two long weeks passed by for Tony and Mario had left, promising to return when Tony admitted his love to Payton. The two had a long drive that night and by the end of the night, and the arguing, Tony had groaned with frustration. Mario was right. Payton had stolen his heart in the night and he hadn't even noticed it. Now she had it and she was gone. This made Tony slightly angry. Mario then turned on a song, Nothing Hurts Like Love by Daniel Bedingfield, to tease him. That made Tony frustrated beyond belief.
"Nothing,
Nothing,
Nothing
Hurts like love
Nothing brings your heart so much pain
Broken hearts, broken dreams
There just some things love brings
When you learn that its all the lie you cry
You find out"
Tony had ignored Mario after that as he tried to organize his thoughts but the more he thought the more it became screwed up. So he put it off and started to get to work on the family. He became consumed by his work when finally Gabe took him aside and handed him a piece of paper.
"She'll kill me if she knew I gave you this. So shut up." And out the door he went. Tony looked at the paper when he realized what it was, he grinned.
Tony entered the house with skills of a panther and a locksmith. He moved soundlessly into the kitchen where he was met with the bright green orbs of Neptune. Staring up at him, Neptune seemed amused at his attempt to appear within his master's house. Standing up, he moved over and went trotting to the counter. Tony turned to the freezer and pulled out a tube of ice cream. Taking two bowls from the cabinet, and spoons, he scooped up ice cream for himself and Payton. He placed the lid in front of Neptune. Just as he took the first bite of his ice cream, he heard Payton, "What are you doing here?"
"I was getting a little more intimate with Neptune." Tony replied, nonchalant, with a shrug of his shoulders. He put her bowl on the stool next to him as if offering it. She took a seat slowly, her eyes watching him closely.
"Why is that?" Payton questioned, taking a bite of her ice cream while still keeping an eye on him.
"Well, I'd rather be friends with him instead of enemies. We will be dealing with one another much more. Right Neptune?"
"Oh, you think so?" Payton smirked but hid it.
"I know so." He smirked as he rose to his feet. Payton looked up at him only to be met with an intense look.
"You can't run from me, Payton."
"I can and who said I was?!" She muttered.
"I did." He whispered. She shivered slightly at the breath on her ear and noticed there was practically no distance between the two. "You may think you can run but you can't hide from me Payton."
"And why do you say that?" She whispered shakily.
"You have my heart and I intend for it be kept by my side at the very least." Payton gasped but was quickly silenced with a kiss. At first she froze but after he licked her bottom lip, she responded. Moments later, Payton stepped away.
"Our ice cream is melting."
"I'll buy you more." He met with her lips again. "Forever."
"No ice cream diets?" She murmured against his lips, causing him to chuckle.
"Never."
"Okay. Then I can deal." She smirked.
"You don't have a choice otherwise."
"Oh really?"
"Yes." And silence claimed them again as they met once again.
It's the end guys. Can you believe it?! It's amazing. I am sorry it is so short but it came out pretty good in my opinion. :D I hope you guys enjoyed this story I wrote. I looked at it and it surprised me. It's only fifty three or so pages long! That's probably the second shortest I have ever written. But I like it. So I hope you did. Review and good luck everyone.
And the song? It was said to fit by one of my readers. TO fit Tony and it suited the moment so I added it. And it's a good song. Thanks animejerk!
And Leslie Marie! - She's amazing guys! Read her stuff!
And Kennie, Muffins Have Hearts Too- For the title and for helping with the ending!
