I Have No Answers

I know what you

Want me to do,

Throw away all I’ve worked for

Pack up, go home

But I can’t

I can’t turn away

Now, I’ve come so far

So quickly

Do I go back to how I was?

Do you really want me scared?

That’s what it looks like

That’s how it seems

I have no way

To answer your plea

I just turn away

And shut out your appeal

And oh,

How the words sting

How your accusations

Cut the air

Can’t I try?

I need to learn

To forgive,

To forget

Don’t suppress me,

Please, I love you

I need to do this

Don’t question me

I don’t want to be scared

I want you to trust me

I hate lying to you

Let me tell you what I’m doing

I won’t let him touch me

I won’t let him close

You’re my saviour

Don’t abandon me

I have no answers,

I have so many fears

Either way I choose

I cannot win
