Blood of War:

Land of the Rising Sun

Centuries of battle

When will it end?

Where the innocent suffer –

Who will defend?

Who will amend?

Astounding beauty of speed and sound

Rose from deep within the hidden village

Every man was immediately spellbound

To the Princess of the Shinobi

The beauty of speed and sound

Brash and cunning, handsome as sin

Was the Prince of Samurai

With a mind and body set to win

And a face to make maiden’s throats dry

Heirs of the rivaling clans meet unexpectedly

First upon the blazing battlefield

Their differences that they cannot oversee

And despite the bloodshed, neither would yield

Each from different worlds

Forced to trudge the same path

Damning what lies between them

During the battle’s aftermath

The Princess of Shinobi

And the Prince of Samurai

Fall deeply in love

With an intensity so high

But the wounds of yesterday

That led a great nation astray

Are still deep and fresh

Along with the hurt yet to fade away

Together they plan to unite the clans

With a marriage of unconditional love

In hopes for a second chance

And forgiveness from up above

Hearts and minds synchronize

As the heirs return to their nest

With them ideas of compromise

For the unity of their nation

And their secret marriage be blessed

The outrage of the Shinobi king!

Hearing his daughter’s confession

Had him marching to the other side

And demanded the king to cease his son’s obsession

With his daughter whom he loved most –

The future of the empire topmost

Driven by anger

Fueled by hate

Another war rages

Warriors headed to devastate

And forbidden lovers,

Shinobi and Samurai,

Watch in agony as their nation die

Duty over love

Was the lesson taught to them

And they swore to follow through

Even if them must unwillingly condemn,

Each other they faced

In the blood of war

Both fighting ferociously yet neither earning a scar

In the midst of the battlefield

A sword through his heart

For shielding his beloved

The Samurai prince slowly depart

The princess of Shinobi attacks

Torn between fury and loss

With blood and tears for her passed beloved

She sent bodies flying across

And although her beliefs stood triumphant,

She joined her beloved shortly in the second life

Mourns and cries from each side

Echoed throughout the land

Stories were told of the great warriors –

The forbidden lovers who took a stand

But the Land of the Rising Sun

Is yet to be united

By a powerful warrior

The son of the lovers departed

He who was not presented before the majesties,

Born only days before the battle,

Known only to the loyal warrior who took the main saddle

Now twenty years later

He is ready to make a stand

With blood of both Shinobi and Samurai

He was born to unite the land!

My first poem! I know this era never really happened (I don't think) between the Samurai and Shinobi but just think of it as an AU! Please review but no flaming!
