Around him the wind blows,
Sending leaves across his face,
Like knife edge glancing off pages of memories.

The winter gale cold
Like ice sculpted mirror
Reflecting his thoughts
Of whether to let go.

His heart rise with care at her every touch,
But yet, there is no desire,
No warmth of longing.

He has seen her eyes' yearning,
As she caressed him, lain with him,
But he feels only pressure,
As kindness is all he is willing to give.

Caring is his heart,
That pity is drowning him with this woman's desire,
As he ponders whether he should end it once and for all,
Before her failing heart is stabbed by the truth.
