I have dreamed of what is,
Wished for things within my reach,
Saw a future I do not desire to have,
Wanted what I know can be.

I have imagined the pains of love,
Pondered the harsh wishes of my mind,
Thought of fantasies within both our comprehension,
And touched your skin so sweetly that you barely felt it as a touch.

I never hoped to feel a lover's soul,
Nor earned to love passion and in return.
I have for a time not craved that enriched story of love at all,
And have not held any memory of the closest I have come.

I couldn't watch the fairy tales and dream where I once was,
Couldn't covet such a lover consumed by pure emotion.
I couldn't dream all these dreams of love I've never known,
Until now, when you have turned my world upside down.
