Hollow

Watching the sunrise, thinking of you

Wondering where you are.

Knowing one day I’ll see you again.

I can’t help but wonder, if you’ll love me too.

I’m so hollow without you

You’re my angel, my fire, my sight.

You made me laugh, you made me cry

You were my light in unfailing darkness.

Without you I’m deaf, dumb, and blind.

Sitting here, listening to love songs

Feeling hollow, knowing you aren’t here.

I can’t help but saying thank you

For setting me free.

Weeks pass now

And my heart is a little more my own.

Little butterflies roam up and down my spine

Teasing me with delight.

I still think of you,

But I’m no longer so hollow.
