Disclaimer: I obviously don't own Quietdrive, Kevin Truckenmiller, or the song I Lie Awake which is actually by Quietdrive. Yes, I did come up with the name The Midway... it's not very good and if you have any other ideas for the name of a band I would love them...

Chapter 1: Touching Rock Stars

I was going to touch Kevin Truckenmiller even if I had to elbow screaming fan girls in the face to get to him. The front of the stage was visible over the tops of five different peoples’ heads, but only if I stood on my tiptoes. Standing at about 5’3” I was not the tallest person in the mosh of fans.

Taking a chance I elbowed Barbie number 1 in the side and managed to push myself around her. One down, four more to go.

The girl in front of me now stood at least five inches taller than me and I could barely see Kevin over her. As she fell against me I backed out of the way and sneakily slipped by her as she fell onto the girl behind me. Two down, two to go.

The next person I elbowed past gave me a quick glance before going back and swaying to the music. Three down, one to go.

One more and I could reach out and touch him, I am not obsessed. I AM NOT! I gave him the once over and tried to find a way to pry myself past him. I couldn’t see one. He was shoulder to shoulder with the person next him on either side. I stared at him again trying to think harder. He did have a nice butt. I shook my head trying to get fewer thoughts of the prime piece of ass in front of me and more thoughts of a plan to touch my favorite rock star. There was no way I was giving up on this dream. Then spying my chance I almost leaped with glee.

In a matter of seconds I found myself on my hands and knees. I crawled through his legs as fast as I could, but before I could even get halfway through, his legs clamped shut around my waist. Then he looked down and I swear I almost fainted. His eyes, though gorgeous, were smirking at me as if he had caught me doing something I shouldn’t. Which I kind of was, but who was he to judge my ways of getting to Kevin, my one true love.

After staring at him for what felt like an hour, but was probably only a couple of seconds I scrambled to my feet. I was after all ahead of him, and now in full view of Kevin Truckenmiller. I sighed and started jumping as I shouted the words to the song.

I lie awake because I'm scared

I'm not as fake as you once heard

But we'll lay down now making sure we

Put these words between us

Don't put these words between us

I lie awake because I'm scared

I'm not as fake as you once heard

But we'll lay down now making sure we

Put these words between us

I lie awake because I'm scared

I'm not as fake as you once heard

And we'll lay these words

And we'll put them down

On the floor beneath us

Don't put these words between us

Don't put these words between us

Then the god started to speak, “Alright guys thanks for coming out tonight. That’s all we have for you. I hope you enjoyed it and I hope you are excited for The Midway to come out and play. Who wants to hear THE MIDWAY?” The crowd screamed as I sulked.

Then before my very eyes Kevin Truckenmiller, the god, reached down and brushed my shoulder before pulling up someone onto the stage.

“Hi, I’m Brandon Evans, lead singer of The Midway…” but I didn’t hear anything else because I was too busy concentrating on the fact that I had just crawled through his legs. I HAD JUST CRAWLED THROUGH THE LEAD SINGER OF THE MIDWAY’S LEGS! I didn’t even register that Kevin had touched me because I CRAWLED THROUGH HIS LEGS. I was so desperate to get to the front I CRAWLED THROUGH HIS LEGS! Of all people it had to be someone famous. Eventually I came to my senses and began to hear what he was actually saying; “It’s great to be in Minneapolis for the first time. (cheers) I actually had another first today; a girl crawled through my legs just to get up to see Quietdrive. I guess you guys are big fans of them around here? (cheers) Well, I hope you like us just as much. We are The Midway, enjoy.” I was red. Not just tomato red, I was sports car, fire engine red.

The nerve of the guy to announce to the whole crowd of people, a few who actually saw me crawl through his legs, that I had gone through his legs. How dare he make me sound like I was a stupid fan girl. I was raving lunatic mad, and my face was beet red.

Before I realized it The Midway was on their last song and I hadn’t even paid enough attention to know whether or not they were good. It wasn’t long before they were over and the roadies were packing up equipment. I was shuffling around trying to get out of the stupid place when I heard someone rushing behind me.

“Hey!” I turned around only to find that stupid Brandon Evans behind me. I kept walking. “HEY!” He said again this time turning me around himself.

“What do you want?” I said somewhat coldly.

“Don’t you want to come back stage?” He asked laughter evident in his voice.

“Not with you.” I answered. Now it may seem like I was being extremely cold towards him but he HAD just embarrassed me in front of like 300 people.

“Alright I just thought that with the whole crawling through the legs you would be desperate to meet Quietdrive, but maybe I was wrong.” He walked away.

I easily caught up to him, “Changed my mind, I’m coming.” He just smirked at me and led me backstage to meet the God.
