Demons of the Night

Sweet promises of the world around me

Fall to the darkness that set me free

All the butterflies flutter to the shade

Where all the nightmares are made

To the world of the broken

I have spoken,

“Listen loud and clear

As the death brigade of fear

Dances and paces in your head

As you fall to sleep in your bed

I know your fear

As I have made clear.”

Aw… the sound is louder and louder

What more could make me prouder?

Dance my demons of the night into my sight

Under the shading dank starlight
