I'm not much of a poet, but I like this poem I wrote in English class today, so I posted it. Hope you like it as much as I did...EDIT: Fixed format on 12-19-07 because the format was really off. Can't do anything about the double spacing though. Oh well, I hope you enjoy enjoy the poem anyway.

Dictionary definition

She identifies memories not by places but by material goods.

She reminisces of the Grand Canyon not by the majesty of the landscape

But by that adorable little snow globe with

'Grand Canyon' written at the bottom with bold green letters

-

She sighs as she tries to remember her high school years

They are just a blur to her

Her most memorable times included prom, where

She was privileged to wear a stunning violet dress

-

And the times she aced a test, when her best friend

Would buy her lunch as a treat

She longed to lose her identity as the

'Material Girl', who's life depended

On dresses and shoes

What has she sunken to?

-

Her greatest wish is to remember

How her school years had gone

Such a sad sight to see a girl who

Never knew the best days of her life
