My “Special” cousin
I have a cousin who was born with ADD (Attention Difficulty Disorder) and most of the kids in my family don’t like him for it, I have to protect him most of the time.
He must be at least eight years old now and still having trouble making friends but one day I made his life easier and more successful. When I first meet him I was basically a loner and he would mess with me even when I was tired, but I still love him for being in my family. I then learned from his mother that he doesn’t have any friends and sees me as an older brother, so I acted like an older brother, or as family.
Many kids and adults said that he wasn’t smart and that was mostly because his mother couldn’t afford to give him an education because money was tight. I wanted to raise his confidence and prove to everyone that he is smart.
I figured out how to raise his confidence, by giving him a gift. (His mom only had enough for cheap clothes to support him) I had a Japanese bell I receive at the age of six on my birthday, I don’t remember who give it to me, but it was a rare bell that isn’t even being made anymore, at first I thought it was cheap, but strangely I kept it for years and I rang it everytime I had a problem of any sort, and it relaxed me everytime.
I one day decided this bell must be used for someone who isn’t doing as well as me. (The woman who had it before me was rich and had it throughout her family tree; she was Asian and apparently a relative of mine)
I ha everything I wanted…except my cousin’s happiness. I gave the bell to my cousin and told him the history behind it and once I gave it to him he shot up with happiness and joy and thanked me, even though he didn’t know what to do with it.
After I gave him the bell I was out of contact with him for about eight months and when I got contact with him I notice all his accomplishments.
Apparently he got a job somehow (I don’t know where) and is making at least a hundred seventy dollars every two weeks and received quite a few raises, his mom got a good job and can support her kids. (Three kids, a seven year-old girl, a nineteen year-old, and my eight year-old cousin) My cousin is going through school and is paying for his own things, such as clothes, games, and electronics, and he has a great number of friends now including a little girlfriend.
Here is the legend of the bell:
The Air Bell (long time ago it was called the Flow Bell): Long ago a bell was made from a great god and was forged directly from wind and air; many people lusted over this bell and its powers which have yet to be discovered. It was made to give good fortune to anyone who deserves it and was good at heart; the people fought a long and bloody war for this bell and showed no remorse. The god that created it believe it can only be trusted with a family that was worthy at the time, so the god gave it to a woman and her child, and it shall stay in the family forever.
The bell can’t be used for bitterness and selfishness, it can only be used by the good hearted and the unlucky and poor, if not than the selfish wieldier will experience bad luck for as long as they keep it.
Quote from the god: “Flow safely and endlessly for all eternity!”
