Another wasted breath

Another heartbeat gone unnoticed

As I wait for vindication.

In my world of smoke and half-truths,

Of hourglass lifetimes

And crimson regrets,

The demons always dress better than

The saints.

Made up of silver memories

And silver wit,

Seduction and steel

And dark opulence

Forming pallid perfection;

One of them condemns me.

My slow-spinning redemption

Is my journey into hell.

Promises behind a glance

Lies behind a kiss,

Eternity in fragmented moments,

Like shards of broken mirror.

I'm losing myself in starless darkness;

I cannot feel

I cannot fuck

I cannot love

Anyone but him.

Peace is beyond me.

I am in love

And hate myself for it.

I am obsessed

With obsession.

My lover is a fallen angel

With broken wings

Like Lucifer

Or humanity.

Ethereal and unreal,

He is a shadow-creature

Of dark fantasies.

I asked him,

"What do you dream?"

And he spoke of

Half-formed futures and

Darkness between the stars and

Languages been and gone and

Me.
