Automatic Outcast

He thought it was

Horrifying

That they hadn’t invited her

To their birthday party.

Because of her culture.

Her religion.

Because she was different.

They had said she was

Their friend.

He thought about

Doing something.

Talking to them.

But no.

It was too late now

Anyways.

It made him sad

To see her crying.

Thinking about

Going to comfort her,

Then guiltily,

Walking away,

Pretending

To be looking for something.

On his birthday party,

He invited almost everyone-

Except…well,

He didn’t invite her either.
