I Will Follow Him
Author:

This is about having faith in an elusive God. I didn't want to put it under religion, because I don't think it's about religion, it's more about faith, which is a totally different thing.

I Will Follow Him

I have followed him all my days,
Along dusty tracks covered in sharp rocks,
Where I could barely make out his footprints,
And through sandy deserts and deep snow,
Where he was easier to trace.
I hear what he has left behind him,
In the trees and the birds and the wind,
And I feel it inside me.
I have heard his voice from afar,
Yet I have never seen his face.
I do not fear the shadows as I journey,
For he has already passed through them.
I have followed him all my days,
And although I have never caught up to him,
And although I may never catch up to him,
I will follow him all my days.
