Classcrossed Lovers

This started out as a 'rich girl loves poor boy' poem, and turned into something a little darker and more like Romeo & Juliet. It's kind of funny, in a sick way.

Class-crossed Lovers

He came from somewhere darker,
I could see it in his eyes,
He was scared to get much closer,
To let me be inside.

He was ruined, made no secrets
Of the fact that he'd been hurt,
That he'd spent a lot of life so far,
Lying in the dirt.

I was richer, he was poorer,
He said it was our curse,
Because seeing us through his eyes,
I was better, he was worse.

He ran back to the darkness,
Feeling welcomed there,
So I put a noose around my neck,
And kicked away the chair.

He let the darkness take him,
To heroin it led,
Now we're finally united,
It's a pity we're both dead.
